Venom bushings and Indy 169s
I guess I'll have to sand down both the barrels and cones for them to fit the truck, how do I measure how much to take off? Or do I just sort of like, keep going, trying to fit, keep going, trying to fit, repeat until it fits?
I'm presuming sanding is the best way to do it as it's more gradual that shonking it with a knife?
Btw I can't get Venom Indys over here anymore =)

Re: Venom bushings and Indy 169s
Can you get Bones bushings? I find they're second to none on standard Indys
I have a bunch of skateboards
Isn't this what you're supposed to put in a signature?

Seconded.
Also you can buy Venom conventional bushings that were MADE for indys.

Re: Venom bushings and Indy 169s
I just bought a set of Bones Hardcore Medium bushings from MHS for my Indy 169s. They havn't come yet but from what I've heard, I think they'll work well.

Re: Venom bushings and Indy 169s
I found that for stock KP you can take one barrel cut it basically exactly in half and have two almost perfect indy tops and can run regular venom barrels bottom. Also bones hardcore top/venom barrel bottom is the best combo IMO.

Re: Venom bushings and Indy 169s
Isn't using 2 bones bushings a little loose? Cause they're both cones aren't they?
-
Re: Venom bushings and Indy 169s
Both Venom elims and barrels are the same height as a stock Indy bottom bushing. And like Face says, you can run a Bones top (or a Bones bottom as a top with a longer kingpin.)

I think you're mistaken. A barrel is a couple mms taller than an elim (which is the same height as the stock bottom cone).
To the OP: just get a 2.25" kingpin from your hardware store and epoxy it in.

Re: Venom bushings and Indy 169s
Venom barrels were taller than indy bottoms from what I could see. Run with no washer and all good thought.

It's not that much. Both the Indy bottom and the Elim are 9/16". The barrel is 37/64". That's less than a millimeters difference.

Just pulled out my caliper... and the difference is exactly one millimeter. Hah! Lol.

Did you measure brand new bushings? Because my calipers show less than a mm difference.

The indy bottoms are brand new, the venoms have been used some. But it really doesn't matter at all haha.

The stock Indys don't sit flat either when just sitting on a table. But you are right. Both the pivot cup and the bushing get hella compressed anyway when you stand on the deck.

The randal barrel is about 1/16" taller than the Indy barrel. I would know.

Re: Venom bushings and Indy 169s
So i'd be fine whacking in an elim on the bottom and a bones top?
