Razortailing and how to prevent it

I've just started getting my manuals better and longer and I'm noticing that both kicks on my board are starting to razortail. I was wondering if there are any home solutions to prevent or at least slow down razortailing. By this I mean a guard maybe or coat it with a sturdier substance. I'm not looking for answers like stop doing manuals or get better at manuals. Thanks in advance for any help given.

Rhino guards are great: Rhino Deck Armor Tail Guard
Thin and low proflie.

Drill holes in your deck to attach...or you can always attempt to use velcro or other means of adhesion.
Bottom line, razortail is part of learning. So don't be afraid to ride your deck to its full potential.

Agreed most shops should have various brands of tail bones bones pig khiro pretty cheap and will extend the life of your board. Haha or you could buy those tail devil spark things j/k

I wanted to protect my board's tails at one point in tim, but then I realized its more fun just to not worry about it and just use it. My tan tien became my most fun board, just because I care the least about it.

I had tail devils on my first board (trickdeck) back when I was... 13? 12? Anyway it is a good way to protect your board and it looks sick, it's pretty freaking cheesy though

I just feel like I will skate harder or at least as hard as I did when the deck was new, if I have something to prolong the life of the kicks.

If you don't mind looking like an idiot (I don't ) wrap some duct tape around the kick and glue a thin delrin sample to it. That way you can take it on and off whenever you want and don't need to drill or pierce the board.
Worked really well for me and it's as cheap as it gets.
I have some spare pieces of grip tape I tacked on on top of it too, but that's not as inexpensive in the longer run.

Thin Chopping Board, i used it on my sliding gloves and if it lasts me this long for sliding (its thick but still), then itll last you a long time with your manuals n such

So I was just thinking about this and was wondering. I've got my hands on a free laminate flooring sample, its got a 'super tough' urethane coating. It seems pretty good and requires a decent amount of effort to even mark it with a sharp knife.

I'm thinking this will work pretty well, it wont be as thick as most tail guards which i assume would be beneficial (although what do i know I'm just learning to Ollie).

So, any thoughts on the idea or how to best attach it to the board? Currently thinking glue of some kind.

It's a mindless calamari, the edge is rounded but should be able to cut the stuff to fit.

You could always curb it. Then you wouldn't have to worry about razortail.

All seriousness - Tail Devils are pretty durable.

I hope this isn't too late but...

I made these with some loaded finger pucks (Like $8) and some Stick on Velcro (Couple Dollars)
It's lasted me well so far and I am having no signs of it falling off. It won't protect your board if you curb it though...
