First off, if you're a new member, Welcome to Silverfish Longboarding.com! You will find this to be a vibrant, diverse community of skateboarders ranging from young kids to cranky old broads, board-builders to shop-owners, pool-shredders to DH racers, and slalom-wigglers to simple grin-and-cruisers. It's all about long boards, boards that turn, boards that go fast and having fun.
There are a few basic rules, and you'll find links below that we'd like you to take the time to read. The 'Fish, as we call her, is like any internet community: there are groundrules for what's cool, what's funny and what's not. Ensure you're aware of your rights and responsibilities by reading the material in the links.
Posting Guidelines: read before posting a message!
If you have questions about how to do things, you can always go to the Site Suggestions & Bug Reports Forum, where you can post questions, let us know about problems, etc... You can post there without logging in, too, just in case you need help but can't log in to get it.
If you would like to report trouble with another member, you can click the red, triangular icon in the lower left of a displayed post to "report it" to our team of Moderators, or you can send us an email. Scroll down and click the "Contact Us" located in the thin, dark blue bar at the bottom of every page in the Forums. Don't flame the post, that just makes it worse and enables the spammer/troll. Ignore and Report. The Moderators will take care of it, if you do.
There is a way for you, as a member, to be reviewed and to give feedback to others about how they conduct themselves on this site. If you love their contribution, or think something was in poor taste, you can use the Reputation function. In order to do that, you'll probably appreciate this excellent thread describing how it works:

If you're a Vendor or Manufacturer, please don't post or participate until after you've read the Vendors & Manufacturers' Guidelines located in the same forum. The whole community is glad you're here, and you will be, too. Our rules are designed to ensure a good time for all.
If you are looking for information, use the "Sticky Threads" at the top of most forums. There, you'll find great info and in some cases, "master stickies" with link lists to all-star threads listed by topic. Also, use the SEARCH function: it really works!

Useful Threads for Skaters
Finally, one of the most common questions skaters have in this forum is with a comparison. "How are Hot Spots compared to Zig Zags?" etc... If you have questions like this, or have interest in explaining comparisons of stuff you actually ride, then you want to go to the Comparisons Thread:
The Comparison Thread.
