Yeah thats the thing... I guess I'll be able to justify getting a new board when I'll run into some money which shouldnt be in too long.

Re: Kracked Skulls
i'm just curious...does the scimitar (sp? i didn't look) have concave? i saw someone mention they liked the concave, but i can't really make out any concave from the pics. and how' do the bolted-on ends work in terms of not breaking or over-stressing that part of the board? the KS are a nice clean design...similar it seems to like a vanguard or dervish (the vanguard's not dropped-thru, i know) but smaller. great opportunity for your own decoration--nice job with that tape!!

Next take one of the metal cupped washers and put it on top of the hole in the baseplate (Metal part that is already installed) that does not have the black rubber thing in it, then put the bushing (yellow rubber thing) on top of the washer wider side up. After that take the hanger (Metal piece with the axle) and put the metal nub in the hole with the black rubber thing with the 180* facing up so the circular cutout in the hanger is over the bushing. After that put the smaller bushing smaller side up on top of the hole in the hanger, and the other cupped washer on top of that. Last put the kingpin (Metal bolt) through all of the bushings, washers, and hanger, and put the nut on the end of the kingpin (from the top of the board) and tighten the kingpin with a ratchet.
A few questions:
Does it matter whether you put the kingpin through the top of the board or bottom? I know it says put it through the bottom and then nut on top but does it make a difference if I put the kingpin through the top and the nut on the bottom?
In the instructions that came with my board it talks about waxing the bushings. Does anybody here wax their bushings?
Instead of the cupped washers that were supplied can I just use any washer that will fit the kingpin?

Re: Kracked Skulls
Hmm I'm thinking about getting a KS..
I've got an evo, and an old s9 right now..
Would this thing make a good slide board by chance?
Not any fancy sliding.. just stand-up basic 180's and such..

Re: Kracked Skulls
Can anyone tell me how the ks scimitar drifts? I have one but i'm a total noob at drifting, I have powerballs in the mail that are going to replace my gumballs as my "drifting" wheels tell me if this setup makes sence if I'm trying to become a good drifter.

Re: Kracked Skulls
Just got a Kracked Skulls Scimitar today. A bit rough around the edges, but....once I set it up, tape, changed bushings on the randalls and KP and put on Seismic Speed Vents 85mm, have to say am impressed. Rain so can't go outside but, the 85s look like they clear with the Randalls real loose, low but not rubbing...yet...and an amazing amount of flex...feels like my flexdex.
Overall, first feel it feels good. Can't wait for dry and get it out. I can't believe how comfortable it feels just on setup.

Re: Kracked Skulls
Just got my 42" Scimitar w/ quartz sand grip in today. It's been said before but can't say enough about William's service. He even put the sand grip in the pattern I requested...saw it on a picture posted earlier in the thread. Got my payment through early Friday morning and received the board the following Wednesday. Took a very, very short cruise before a storm rolled in. The two boards I've previously ridden have been standard topmounts with no risers so I'm accustomed to tight trucks. I've got the trucks nice and loose right now and the turn radius on this thing just feels ridiculously small. I'm not sure if a 44" might have been more suitable for me...sometimes I get quite a wide stance when I'm carving. But regarding the board itself...couldn't be happier. Aaaaand pics.

Re: Kracked Skulls
Jordan that looks like a fun ride, I really really want to try a 42" version. The 38" is a blast but it's pretty small for faster situations...it'd be interesting if the 42" felt similar but with more room.
To the guys asking about slides and drifts, it should be good for that. It has a decent concave and as long as you have grip to lock you in, you should be good to go. Plus drop through decks tend to slide out/drift better than top mount decks...so you have that to help you. Don't expect a tech slider, but for drifting some corners or throwing safety slides it should be a good choice.

Re: Kracked Skulls
So I'm thinking I might lay down some narrow strips of grip tape between the diamonds of sand grip on my Scim (current pics are two posts up if you missed). Not really for any sort of functionality but I thought it might just look sharp. Unfortunately, don't think I will get it done before I go back to school. If I go for it, I'll definitely get some pics up. Any opinions though? Too much or would it look good?

Yeah, I asked the same questions last month but I dont think anyone replied. It seems to me that it would create stress points in the deck to have the bolts in the deck fighting flex and torsion.
Another question too...can someone please tell me how long the foot space of the deck is?

Yes Concave, a nice one, not too much, and the board is thin, so it feels like it conforms a bit. Even has a bit of..?Camber??. Love my Evo but it doesn't "hug" my feet.
4 bolts around the truck hold it down, the other 2 feel like place holders IMHO.
Fit 85mm on it, a few hairs clearance.
Foot space don't know off hand, but enough for me for sure, its 46 long....so guessing 34"ish. I don't lack for room on it.
Overall, and for the $....good deck to have in the quiver. Grab it, ride it beat it, lone it. It works and I feel it is a good one to judge against the bigger $ decks. I think Will pulled it off for half the price and them some, and fast ship, easy to deal with, fast response to emails, great guy.
Oh...and love the flex. I'm heavy and its fun.

Re: Kracked Skulls
I just bought a cimitar off of a guy that is the same one that is pictured a number of pages back with the clear dimond grip job and the red painted risers.
Anyway, the thing is sick. Absolutly sick. I get no wobble at all at speed and it is super carvy. Great board at an ever bertter price. You really cant go wrong with one of these.
