Re: Kracked Skulls
Ordered a custom 38" one for my friend on friday. Got here today. Just opened it up and I want to keep it for myself. Oh well, guess I'll just have to stick to my vanguard...
EDIT: I ordered it with no graphic on the bottom. William said that it ships out quicker without the graphic since it takes time to paint it and stuff. My friend's gonna be stoked...

Re: Kracked Skulls
I still want to know what is not so great about the board. All i ever read is how great it is but every board has its advantages and disadvantages. what are the disadvantages of the kracked skulls m1?

Re: Kracked Skulls
i dont see anything wrong with it if you get the more aggressive cut outs and larger wheels....you can always throw a more downhill suited truck setup if you want. people say its "heavy" but I don't see that.

i'm not saying there should be anything wrong with it, I just wanted to know what it's not good at. as an example, it's probably not gonna make a great slalom deck. other than that would you say it's a pretty good all around board or are there some disciplines it really excels in and others it's not so great for?

I think it's a great all around board if you want to do a little bit of each. It won't make a great dh board, but for moderate speeds, it'll work. Carving is pretty decent if you get some softer bushings in the r2's. Commuting is questionable since the board is pretty long, but if you decide to custom order a 38" like I did for my friend, it'll work fine. Plus, the drop thru deck really helps with long distance pushing. Pump-ability was what was somewhat lacking in the board. It's definitely pumpable, but takes much more effort to maintain speed than what is required on my vanguard.
Overall, it's a great all around board. Tighten up the trucks for light bombing, loosen them up for carving. Push around for commuting and if you get tired of pushing, pump a little.
By the way, this is from my experience from the 38" deck, not the 46".

each of the kracked skulls decks that get sent out should come with the translucent-ish bushings that should be softer(?)
regardless, they are great
how do you like the 38"???

Well, I'm one of those that runs white barrels front and back on my vanguard when I weigh 140, so the stock randal yellow bushings are a bit too hard for me. For everyone else, some flat washers on there should do the trick.
The 38" is awesome in my opinion. It's really agile, good enough for pedestrian slalom through my campus as well as some deep carves down hills around my school. Overall, its a great commuter as I intended it to be, with potential for great late night fun in parking garages. I bought this one for my friend, and now I'm tempted to pick one up for myself.

Re: Kracked Skulls
Yeah my buddy just got the stock Randal yellow bushings...I really don't know why extra bushings would be included for no reason but ah well.

The aggressive cutouts are about wheelsize. If you are running 70mm, no worries. But with
Landhawgs 77mm, I get wheelbite with normal cutouts--especially in low-speed tight manuevers.

Just ordered my KS M1!
Well, just sold my S9 Cosmic II so I could afford a new board, and just placed my order for the Kracked Skulls M1 complete! Anyone have an idea of how long it will take to ship and when I could expect to hold the work of greatness in my hands?
*placeholer for pix when board arrives*

for sure! reason i actually chose that board is because everyone here on the 'fish seems to speak so well of it. Supposedly its more of a carver, I'll get back to you on that with my own personal opinion though!

I've got two of Bill's KS boards. They are styling, sweet and ride like a dream. You will LOVE this board. And yeah, shipping even from Utah to upstate NY only took two days. I couldn't believe it when I unpacked that M, put it together and was riding it in my basement in an hour. (wintertime you know)
Let us know how you like your board. Pretty soon there will be more of us on the Fish riding KS as the word gets out.
