I find the yellow ones to be a bit better. But nevertheless, bushing upgrades are a must. I recommend venom standard packs.

Re: Kracked Skulls
Hey guys,
New to longboarding, but not skating or snowboarding.
I was originally looking at a loaded vanguard, but don't have the money, nor do I want to spend that much. So, I thought about making my own. But at the price of these, I think I may just have to get one.
So i'm 6'2" and around 210-215 lbs. 46"er? And would these be too flexy for me? I'm looking to carve and pump, not a lot of DH.
I'd consider getting this board more as buying a board "blank" rather than buying a complete, so If I need to add a layer of glass while I'm messing with it, I will. I was planning on re shaping the wheel cut outs anyways, and rounding off the corners so is there any way that I could special order an M1 with bigzig lemons?

I don't think you'll have any problems with the flex as long as you don't intentionally try to bottom the board out or anything. btw, you can order the board complete and just ask for it unfinished - he ships them out disassembled, and you get really good prices for the parts. If I were you, I'd just go with the scimitar, though. On my scimitar, there's literally only 2mm of clearance between my board and my Bigzigs when I'm in a full carve. I think one of the reasons the Scimitar has the bigger wood risers is to reinforce the bigger cutouts.

you're right. He used to make them out of steel, but problems with the metal cracking and breaking came up and then wood just started working better.

I love KS! The scimitar is awesome, I have had a 40" and a 44", and they are both awesome. Personally I definitely think I should have stuck with a 42", but the board is still sick.

^^ haha funny you say that, I've had a 40'' 42'' and 44'' and I definately like the 42'' the most. You can rock some super tight carves in, and you still have room to crosstep and throw standys and move about. I feel just a tiny bit cramped when getting down for a coleman though.

Re: Kracked Skulls
The main reason I wanted to get the M1 was because it DIDN'T have the extra reinforcement. I wasn't too fond of the idea of having a bunch of ugly wood sticking up on my deck. That's why I was thinking a layer of glass... If not over the whole top or bottom, then at least the nose and taili sections around the trucks and the skinny parts of the board.

The fact two people just said they either love their 42"/wish they had a 42" makes me feel good on deciding to get the 42" scimitar,

Re: Kracked Skulls
yeah i think 42 is a nice even size to go with. i have the 44'' and it has plenty of room. i bet the 42 would fit just nice though.

Is anyone riding a 35 or 45 degree Randal baseplate on their KS? Just curious if it fits and how it feels.

Dude, I used to live in Lawton. You are in Stillwater, probably at OSU. Having yourself a sweet Kracked Skulls to get you around will make your day. The board is the lightest, flexiest most affordable package on the market. It's bombproof--William really knows his stuff. I have three KS boards, along with multiple others, and the Scimitar is my favorite of them all. Go for the 46, you won't be sorry.
Peace, out,
Jules

70mm is about the biggest you could run on the M1.
but the scimitar could run bigger wheels.

You can run 72's on a M1 but that's max. But back to oldschool, if you want a 75mm or something like that you are going to need to splurge for the scimitar.

i asked William the same question after i had tried it myself. He said that he has never recommended flipping the hangars. The randalls 180's are just fine unflipped. if anything just tighten your trucks a bit. not so tight that you cant steer. its all preference tho.

Re: Kracked Skulls
I'd recommend flipping hangers. Turns better, and lower. I've had 3 different drop thru boards and all of them rode better with the Randal's flipped. But thats just me. Try it, I bet you don't go back.
