Looks good to me, I have the Landyachtz Dropcarve with is similar to that design but only 42". 42 is a good size for sliding, but a 46" lowered board has to be cool too, and may be even more fun to ride. And yeah the price is great.

I posted a mini review in my thread in the buy sell forum, but in summary, it really isn't bad. If I had to compare it to anything, it'd be like the Hypercarve I had. Big, kind of heavy, stable, and a good carver. I modded the one I have for sale so that it is lower still, and the tops of the wheels are higher than the lowest point of the deck. All in all for the money, you could do a lot worse.

Default Kracking Skulls for pumping?

Hey, I'm new to longboards. Long time snowboarder, was a skateboarder waaayyyyy back in the day. Anyone have first hand experience with Kracking Skulls? How are they for flat-land pumping? I have a rail trail that is long and flat by my house, so my main concern is wanting something to just pump/cruise up and down the trail and around my neighborhood.
If they aren't good for pumping, then can you recommend a set-up I can get as a complete that would cruise well pumping? Not looking to spend over 170ish.
I was looking at the Arbor Blunt and Rail initially since I have an Arbor snowboard (killer by the way) but then the KS really caught my eye.
Thanks for your help,
Pete

I've never ridden one but from the looks of the boards and what I've read from other people they should be great. Before I got my EW supercharger I was very seriously considering getting one of them. I doubt you'll be disappointed if you get one.

Had one, not really good for pumping. It's good for commuting as it's nice and low, easy to push. Stable too, but it's a big, heavy, stiff board that IMHO, responds to slowly to rider inputs to be good for pumping. Then again, I can really only pump on smaller decks so maybe you'll be able to do it.

Also, he said he can up the wheel size to 77mm for a little more. Are there any disadvantages to the larger wheel size? With the KS board design, I can't really think of any. Thanks

Larger wheels are heavier--potentially faster, and increase board height, but the increase for this
board is laughable. In fact:

Yeah, I was thinking with the way the trucks mount that the increase in ride height shouldn't even be a concern. Well, after exchanging a few emails with Kracked Skulls I decided to give it a try. Board should be arriving in a few days with the 77mm wheels, we'll see how it goes.

Default Landy Bear Kracked Skulls M1

I have been thinking about getting an M1 but would really like to set it up with my Bear trucks, does anyone know if they are compatible.

I have talked to the owner he wasn't sure and said he specifically had the deck made to go with R2 baseplates. How similiar are the baseplates for when the bear's/r2's are compared?

If anyone could give me some insight that would be great.. have a good one

I believe it has been said hear that the Bears protrude further forward than the Randals. If that is the case, not they won't fit stock, the cutouts are cut very tightly. Having said that however, there is plenty of wood on the board, and it would take less than 10 minutes with a Dremel to modify the deck, with no ill consequences. I modded mine when I had it to lower it further, and the board was still solid

You might want to try contacting the man who makes them. It seems like becuase he has such a small company he might have the time to cumstom make one for you. It would save you the trouble and guess work of having to dremel your own holes.

Default Kracked Skulls

I've been really interested in the kracked skulls deck lately because it's alot different than any other board i have and it's really affordable. Right now i've got a gravity dt37 and a gfh pigme both with traditional style trucks. I do alot of cruising around on flats because well, my town is flat. I really like to carve down hills though. I basically thought this board would be really cool because it's so different than what i have, it's really affordable, and it sounds like alot of people really like it. I'm wanting to know if you guys think i would enjoy the board. I weigh about 155. What are the things that aren't so great about the board?
