    Question ???loaded vanguard flex question???

hey guys i finally gave in to all of the talk and reviews and i'm gonna save up for a loaded vanguard. i have a question about the flex options they have to offer. i'm 5'6 and 135 and i was wondering do the flex options really matter? i would like the longer 42 board, but i'm not heavy enough. does it really matter what flex it is and if anyone has experience, is there a board that just has good flex no matter the weight. Thanks for the advice!

the flex definately matters. we weigh the same, and i ride the flex 4. i would recommend that, if you get a higher flex, then its going to lose that amazing vanguard feel.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I also have a question about the vanguard flex and thought it would be better to ask it in this thread instead of making another one about the same topic.

Anyways my question is: I weigh 170 currently and will get a vanguard either over the summer or at the beginning of the school year. I know for my current weight I should get a Flex 3 but I am hoping to lose weight after I really get involved in longboarding.
Should I opt for a Flex 4 so it will work better towards my future weight or will a Flex 3 be broking in enough to still be flexible for when I weigh less? (After all, the vanguard is all about the flex and I want as much as possible without bottoming out when I carve).

    Thanks in advance.

how much weight do you plan on losing? i am 135 and ride a flex 4, and it will bottom out if it land in the middle of the board with a fair amount of force. if you dont lose alot of weight and are barely in the flex range, itll be pretty easy to bottom out except for when you are just carving.

    Maybe 10-15 lbs...
I'm not really focusing on losing weight, just hoping it happens after I pick up longboarding and get off my lazy bum.

i'd stick with the flex 3 then i suppose...
im pretty sure if you order a board from loaded and dont like the flex, you can send it back for a different one as long as it isnt damaged or something, not sure about milehighskates though.

the flex four would be perfect for you. the 42" boards arn't as flowy as the 38" boards, i have both the three and four vanguard, and i perfer the four...and i weigh 160. flex takes a minute to get used too, but it is incredibly beneficial to beautiful carves and physical meditation.
