Default New Skater needs a Longboard

    here's what i'm looking at:

    http://www.gravityboard.com/pages/gs...oards/c39.html

i'm 5'9" and 142 lbs. i will be using this board for cruising primarily. i want to ride it on campus to get from class to class to work. there's not much of a chance of me being on any hills, the biggest one in my town is the dirt left over from where they dug out the public pool. i found this deck on ebay, but it comes with different trucks/ wheels... here's the link
    :

so... i'm wondering if this is a good buy for a beginner, or if i ought to stick to the complete on gravity's webpage.

any other suggestions are welcome. specifically, any sweet rides for chicks? i don't mean pink, i just mean something smallish... and decent looking. my price range is up to $150... can't break the bank.

also, i'm currently riding my old roommate's (regular, short) board, but his trucks are tight! should i loosen them up to get ready for a longboard? he says he doesn't mind...

thanks in advance! ever feel excited about getting a longboard?

Kracked Skulls (www.krackedskulls.com). They are plain AWESOME. You will not regret it, they turn and carve well, and they can handle speed with ease if you ever want to in the future. Plus all the stock parts are quality.

edit:if you want something small the m1 is a little big but why do you want something small? also it is just polyurethane and you can ask him not to poly it, or put on the logo so you can custom paint it.

do you want a kick tail? if not i like the landyachtz spud. no one else does but i love it, just get risers for the trucks so you dont bottom out and slap on some huge ass wheels and ull be good. Any landyachtz are good actually if you dont like the spud.

yeah, i had looked at those after seeing so many people recommend them on this forum, but i had decided it was too long. i want something small so i can take it on the bus and in the classroom without making a fuss. plus, i figured a little extra maneuverability might be a good thing for a (basically) beginner who wants to skate in busy areas. i do like the idea of painting it myself though...

The m1 is very maneuverable. But it is a little big. Landyachtz are good like posted above and Loaded boards are usually considered one of the best but cost a bit over $150.

Just have William cut the KS M1 down to about 38". That's exactly what I got for my friend and it's a fun ride.

People have got them in 38" instead. Email him and see what he can do for you. I really like the Kracked Skulls boards, and highly recommend them. Cannot be beat anywhere close to that price range.
