    Default Looking at a Vanguard...

So, my sister is starting to get interested in longboarding and I have been looking at boards off and on for a while now. I have had my eye on the Loaded Vanguard, and it looks like an awsome board, I only hear good things about it. We are going to buy one completer and split the cost (for now).

My queston is about flex. My sister probably weighs around 120-130 and I weigh 155-160. Would a flex 4 be too flexy for me?

Flex 4 should be fine for you. Here's my review of a flex 3, I weigh 15 pounds more than you, but it may give you some help. New Vanguard and Review: Flex 3, 170lbs

I will, I hope my Sister catches on and gets good (and doesn't give up). We both snowboard, I skate, and this will be our first longboard.

I got the Loaded Vanguard Deluxe custom complete Flex 4 from Mile High:

Randal R-II 180 trucks (with grade-8 kingpins and flat bushing washers)
    ABEC11 Gumballs 76mm wheels
Ballistech Skyrockets sealed bearings (with spacers)
    Khiro shock pads
    Stainless steel truss-head mounting hardware

Do you guys think I will have any bottoming out problems with the flex 4?

    This is my only concern.

I'm 215#, and ride a Flex 1 and Flex 3. I think you'll be fine on the 4, as long as you don't use it like a trampoline.

You'll be fine on the Flex 4. My Vanguard was a Flex 4, I weigh 168lbs. I could only bottom it out if I put both feet together and hopped on the center of the board.

Don't worry, you both will love it. Worst case scenario, if you think it's too flexy (you won't), you can just trade out your Randals for some Paris 180's when they come out, which will shorten your wheelbase a tad and stiffen the flex up a bit.

Let us know how it rides!

Alright, thank you guys! I feel better now, and more convinced I will be fine.

I can't wait to get it and start riding. I am curiuos how it will be compared to snowboarding...

And Adam Colton is the guy in the Loaded videos right?

He sure is. And the board will be great for you. Unfortunately almost every other longboard you stand on will feel dead though...that's the price of owning a Loaded haha
