Default In need of a board

Hi, my friend wants me to pick out his board for him.

    $200 is his price.

He wants a little bit of flex,
he tried out my vanguard and my friends sector 9(36 bamboo i believe) He said he felt better on the vanguard.

We basically ride up and down a flat street, like to do basic carving, maybe slide the back wheels out a little every now and then.
He is around 6 feet, weighs 170

    Help would be greatly appreciated?

So far the boards that caught my eye were
    gravity mini carve
    krackedskulls
I have a feeling he will like the gravity more because of looks and name brand, is the kracked skulls better?
Any others I should look at?

    thanks

Why not shell out another 45 and get the Vanguard complete from Mile High Skates.

Get the Vanguard or Kracked skulls. The brand name means nothing. My Kracked skulls rides nicer then any Gravity I've ridden on. They are quality boards and are as cheap as hell.

kracked skulls is becoming a brand name, as far as i'm concerned. their boards look and perform great from what i've read, and their price is awesome.

you can get a kracked skulls, and then get someone to custom paint/grip it up to look however you want.

also, i have been very intrigued w/ earthwing's boards, the super glider/charger.

they look awesome and supposedly perform tremendously, and also have a kick tail.

maybe you can buy vanguard factory 2nd and then get the components separately? it might be lower than $200.

I love my Kracked Skulls and i like it better than the Vangaurd IMO. One of my friend is undecide witch he like's better and the other likes the vangaurd better. But the moral of the sory is about 100-200 dollars if you know what i mean. I heard good things about gravity but you said he like flex and the KS has good felx to it. If you are doing alot of flat land me and my two friends agree the KS is a better flat land due to the drop through design of the trucks. I recomend the KS to any newbie it a great begginer board and a good intermediate to advance board. I have actully taught many people how to ride on that baord. I like the Sector 9 bombhills it's a good first board. any questions send me a pm

Thanks for your responses much appreciated, so the default setup on the M1 is a good setup?

Also does it have a little flex for his weight?
Also whats the flex like on the earthwing, and others you suggested mark can you guys compare the riding to the KS?
