Loaded Vanguard Question
Hey I can't find one of these to Demo so I am hoping you guys can help me out.
I am a big guy 6'1" 250 and the Flex1 is rated up to 230+... Is this board going to bottem out on me...
If so, what board would be kind to the big guys? I am looking for a speed board with cut outs...
Would the Insect Lightning bug be a solution?
Thanks in advance for any help...

Re: Loaded Vanguard Question
The Vanguard is in no way a speedboard. Look at the Rayne Demonseed (www.raynelongboards.com), Landyachtz EVO, or the Landyachtz DH Race (www.landyachtz.com). They are all speedboards and can handle your weight. There are lot's more but those are popular.

Yeah that Deamonseed is sexy... How well does it ride just cruzing?
Also, any feed back on bottoming out at 250 with the vanguard?
Thanks for the feed back...

The flex 1 wont bottom out unless you use it as a trampoline.

If you stand in the middle and bounce, you can bottom it out. I weight about 10-20 lbs more than you depending on the season and
how much I am carrying. I have stood on Flex 2 (both my abberation at 38" and the normal longer ones) and they weren't going
to bottom out under normal conditions.
I'm not saying you can't bottom it out--but I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Loaded Vanguard Question
In my opinion, if you are really wanting a speedboard, then go for a Landyachtz or an actual specific speedboard...
Landyachtz evo is a great choice.
Search youtube for Landyachtz Evo and you can see it in action.

Haha, You guys are great. I have posted in a number of forums, but seldom do you get this kind of quick response... Excellent community.
But man... all these boards look freaking sweet. I have no idea which way to go...
Anyway, I appreciate your advice and if you got more info that could help me pick one.... I would be in your debt.

Re: Loaded Vanguard Question
it all depends on what type of riding do you plan on doing. Are you looking to go fast, cruise around the neighborhood and to work, carve up some hills? Loaded boards are awesome if you like flexy, carvy goodness.

Yeah good questions... I will be cruzing around the flats most of the time, but may want to hit some hills from time to time. I love to carve and I like to cruze... I need a somewhat versitile board. I was interested in the Vanguard becuase I heard it was a bit of a tweener speed board, but if I understand you guys correctly the Vanguard may not be very stable on the hills or at speed.

Re: Loaded Vanguard Question
The EVO is a great downhill board or freeride. Also look at the Kebbek commishin.

Re: Loaded Vanguard Question
Well I think I am going to go with the EVO. Here is what I am thinking....
I used daddiesboardshop linked through these forums to calculate this...
Evo Deck (Black)
Landyachtz 10mm Bearings
Bear Grizzly 10mm Trucks
Abec11 Flywheels 83mm 81a Duro
Price is about $2.5
You guys have been a big help... Let me know if you see any problems with this build or if I am missing anything...
Thanks again.
/hugs
