Re: My first board
This board is everything you'll need. Independent trucks are low to the ground so it'll be easy to push, 70mm wheels will roll over lots of stuff, and it'll be a great all-around beginner board.

Re: My first board
look around on the internet and on this fourm as well there are many different longboard companys around like sector nine, landyachtz, loaded, gravity, and many many more. i started out on a sector nine cosmic series and loved it. now i am a little more into DH so i bought a landyachtz DH Race. but if you just want to cruise you should deffinatly check out loaded or sector nine.
good luck

Re: My first board
I found this site
http://www.loadedboards.com/newsite_v1/pintail.html
Are any of these boards a good choice?
-
Re: My first board
Yeah, the loaded pins are sweet. Especially as shorter commuters. If you're riding mostly flats, I recommend you grab some 70mm zigzags instead of gumballs.

It says "Flex 1"

The flex numbers indicate how flexy the board is. The lower the number, the stiffer the board is. See the weight ranges next to each flex? Pick one that's within your weight.
I'd say yes, you should buy paris trucks.
