Wheels: Grippy, but slideable
I'm looking for some wheels to put on a board I'm gonna use for some campus cruising, some DH (light) and just all around cruising. I want a wheel that's pretty all around. Pumpable, able to roll over things pretty easily, but i dont want too much chatter if i go to slide them.
What do you suggest?

I would just go with gumballs at a higher duro. I have 81a gumballs on my KS and I love them.

Anything with faced hangers, speed washers, steel bearing spacers, and tight axle nuts will have less chatter when slid.

Grippins basically suck for sliding. The sharp edge catches and then they chunk.

I've used grippins on a deck I slide constantly. All I basically do on the deck is slide. And I have owned them for over 3 years. Do you know what you are talking about?

Re: Wheels: Grippy, but slideable
Flys aren't really grippy, but they are a good wheel, gumballs are probably the best for what you're looking for, and Seismic blastwaves do the job, they are just a bit slugish (its probably only me that has this issue i bet). I'd go with the gumballs, I haven't rode any other wheels so I can't say anything about grippins or any others mentioned.

Re: Wheels: Grippy, but slideable
you might want to check out the new superballs from earthwing, 76mm, 80a (not entirely sure on the duro). They've got a crazy lookin lip on them.
as for grippins, I've got them on my pintail it 81a, haven't tried sliding them yet, but they seem to have even more grip than my 78a 'zigs.

People say the grippins are grippy when they are newer, maybe thats why (I have only heard this, not experienced it)

Yes, and Grippins chunk. They also don't last for 3 years. You are obviously a poser who doesn't skate.

I know that anyone who claims to be sliding a set of Grippins for three years doesn't skate much.

Re: Wheels: Grippy, but slideable
First pic is from 10th grade (3 years ago) had the wheels at least 10 months before that. Second pic was 12th grade. Same wheels. And I will take a pic of them later tonight. They were one of the most riden wheels I have owned.
