It's no secret that there are a lot of equipment-related threads here on the 'fish. From boards, to trucks, wheels, and even bearings, there are thousands of posts of the "this vs that" variety. And as a retailer, I can tell you that my e-mail inbox gets crammed with quite a few of those types of questions.
People ask, "What's the best board?" Nine times out of ten, it's the board you ride, not the ones you think about. Compared to five years ago, it's pretty hard to buy a "bad" board from a reputable company or dealer. Sure, some may perform a little better than others, but for the majority of people, that minute difference isn't worth agonizing over.
Asking questions and doing research is fine. But when the quest for the best consumes more time than riding a(ny) board, it's gone too far. Better equipment is nice, but actually skating will improve your abilities more than whatever <deck/truck/wheel> is popular on the internet.
Think less, skate more.
