    Default What parts to get?

What parts would you recommend I slap on my 46" S9 Teahupoo Supercruiser? Everything's stock and old and worn down after years of riding it (except for the wheels and bearings since I got some new ones for Christmas), so everything else needs to be replaced. It's got a smooth ride and feels comfortable going down hills.

I'm looking for parts that are geared towards downhill stability, yet have that ability to carve sharply. After searching, I'm leaning on getting Randal II 180's.

    What do you guys think?

edit: just realized I didn't post this in the Q/A section. my bad! mod(s) feel free to move this.

    150s may fit better.

If you really want downhill stability but some good feel then go for some Crails. Otherwise Paris perhaps. And I'd probably go 180's on that deck (I have it too but I have the Gullwings still...grrr).

Randal 180's are a great fit on that board. I have one myself and I've run Randal 180's and Paris 180's on it and they both work great.

    180's it is then.

And although I don't plan on buying new wheels just yet, what would you guys suggest for those? And bushings?

S9 GOS, Abec 11 Gumballs or Flashbacks. Bushings will depend on how much you weigh, but a good combo for Randals is to have a Khiro blue barrel on the bottom and an orange barrel on top.

I'm about 120 lbs. I'm looking for bushings (or a good combo) that would keep me stable at high speeds without sacrificing fun, sharp turning [too much]. Hopefully some sliding can be done so long as I'm not askin for too much.

By the way, why are Flashbacks cheaper than the other Abec wheels?

Blue Barrel on bottom and Orange Barrel on top will be good for riders up to 150lbs.

    I don't question why Flashbacks are cheaper, I just know they're awesome-sauce.

Sounds good. I was gonna purchase online, but I'm too much of a cheap-ass to want to pay for shipping so I'm headin on over to Muir by your school and getting them in person sometime this week.

Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate it!

If you head over to Muir hit me up, maybe we can skate or something.

I was gonna sap bears. Stable at speed and still way fun to carve. Can get 'em in a few different angles too.

Wheel wise, maybe some 70mm zigzags or some powerballs?

I'm putting the wheels on hold for now since I'm on a pretty tight budget, but the ones you've suggestions were what I've thought of getting, especially after reading lots of positive reviews on both.

Part of the reason flashbacks are cheaper is because they are totally sideset. So it only takes one mold step to make them as opposed to the multiple steps involved for offert/centerset wheels.

What is each type of wheel best suited for?

The sideset wheel has only one flexible lip that can deform, so it has less resistance to sliding...Thats about the extent of my knowledge though.
