    Default Protective Gear

What is a really good, lightweight skate helmet?
    Also any suggestions on pads?

I'm sure there is at least one other thread about this with far more info.

For myself I like the Triple 8 Helmets, and 187 pads.

Sure. Your safety gear is the second more important purchase you'll make for skateboarding.

Also remember the holy trinity of safety gear - Helmet, Slide Gloves, Knee pads.

The safer you are, the longer you'll skate, the better you'll be.

he lightest helmet i know of is my snowboard helmet

its an RED Hi-Fi, it is amazing. you should be able to get it at any skate/snow shop

then just take out the ear pads and its a good skate helmet (so is the RED Trace). The Trace looks a little better, but its heavier

its not a multi impact helmet, its got the harder greyish foam, not just some random multi-use foam. Helped me in many a fall

    Pro-Designed Pads
    Pro-Designed, Inc.

buy these pads and never buy another set of pads again. one of the guys I ride with is a slider, and he's owned the same set of pads for 15 years, and he rides a lot, and falls even more

that's true, but it's one and done with these. I would get some, but I'm saving for leathers instead
