Default kurdt is a noob and this is his how to SEARCH thread

Good day fishers, in light of so many noobs coming to flood these boards with so many repeated topics (dervishes, slide wheels, trucks) i have come up with a way to help YOU in learning more about what you want to find out, with out

    being flamed

Before using the SEARCH function, try looking for what you want under the GEAR tabs, a lot of gear has already been reviewed and the review section is always a good place to start reading on what you want

So where is the Search function?

-it is happily located in one of the tabs on the top, it sits right beside the LINKS tab, there is another one located under the FORUMS tab, directory is FORUM/Search Forum

How to use the Search Function and get good results!

-Type in what you want to search (pretty easy)

To look for your subject and come up with good answers i highly suggest coming up with keywords that will help you in searching, what is even more important is to use the "Search in Forum" option

For example im looking for slide wheels; type:
slide wheels, you can type that in either the Q&A forum, wheel forum and slide forum and chances are numerous topics will come up

say a particular wheel is repeatedly mentioned.. try searching about that wheel and you will surprisingly learn a lot from it.

Thats a simple example, lets say i want to know if "blank board" is good for "blank discipline"
then again, type "name of board" and go to the respective forum for which you intend to use it, youd be amazed as to what you find out
    Ex:
i want to know about the dervish and its sliding potentiality,
type dervish and search it in the slide forum, you shoud get some results, you can also just type "dervish"and "slide" in pretty much any forum and youll get results lol

Keywords are you friend! Say i want to know about the hellcat and its bombing prowess, use these keywords to help you!
    Hellcat, Speed, bombing, speedboard, stability...

you get the picture? you should type words that are very related, doing these steps oughto make your stay in the fish more pleasant.

yay, maybe this will somewhat reduce the threads that have to do with dervishes

wanna keep this at the top so people see this.

While I do tend to agree with the search first issue. There is an open invitation for questions to all the new comers who may not be familiar with this site when the first forum they come to says
    "Longboarding Resources & Q/A
Get or give friendly, patient answers to, "Which board should I get?", "How do I stop?" or "What's wedging and how do I do it?"

I think that if you don't want to "give friendly patient answers" then you don't have to, but there is also no reason to flame the guy either. Let someone who does want to help the new person out answer the question. My .02

    ^^^ well said.
the Q/A search gestapo needs to lighten up or just ignore this part of the forum entirely.
noone's forcing you to read Dervish threads.
    or reply to them.
i know it's annoying, you know it's annoying, but "patient answers" were given to me
and i'll continue to pass them on until it strikes me to stop doing so.

geez, i think this is more annoying than the dervish threads

"use the search engine" or "stupid noobs and their not willingness to use the friggin search engine"

another dervish thread isnt going to hurt you in any way possible guys. i think you guys are acting like grumpy old people being very impatient, all they want is help so why cant we help them? you guys are scaring away all the new fishers
