    Arrow Newbie needs help

i was curious what kind of trucks, wheels, and bearings i should go with, since i already
pretty much decided on the Loaded Vanguard. I'm 5'8", about 180, and
i'm looking to keep the entire package under $300, and just the deck
itself for the Vanguard is $164. I'm looking for smooth carving to
simulate snowboarding, but i'm not really sure what flex and stuff to go
with either. any help you can offer is greatly appreciated!

I would def go with a flex 1 or 2 (less flexy--but Vanguards are still pretty flexy). Trucks go with either the Randal 180s or Paris 180s (very similar trucks). ABEC 11 Gumballs are pretty good wheels.

Get the flex 3. At 5'8" the 42" will be too wide of a stance. Trust me the 3 will work best. I'm 170-175 and ride the 3 and it's great (around 5'10"). I've rode a flex 2 before and it was far too long.

If you aren't gonna be doing any downhill whatsoever, vanny with original s8's and powerballs. Snowboardy as all.

For mroe all around riding, I'm thinking paris 180s with either powerballs or bigzigs in lemon, with some speedy lunatics or biltins.
