Versatile Longboard
Something that can carve well, do a little stand up sliding, but also short enough to do tricks and some park riding.
I was looking at the Gravity 39" Carve. What do you guys think? Any other recomendations?
Also since this is my first board...the cheaper the better!

The BE is a great deck.
I use one of these:

The concave is pretty sick.

Is it able to carve decently? I want to keep my snowboard skills in tact for the off season, but am looking to do tricks as well.
Thanks!

It would be more toward the trick/slide end of the spectrum because the concave is very dramatic. I personally like flatter boards for carving, though with wedged indys it's not awful. Sometime I'd like to throw some Randal or Paris 180s on it for kicks.
edit: I'm referring to the rebel. I don't think the BE40's concave to be as deep (if I remember correctly). Sorry if I threw you off a little.

i really have no idea what this grav board looks like, but if you wanted....the loaded dervish is pretty sweet for carves, standups, and tricks

Re: Versatile Longboard
Dervish duhhh, it can do anything
nah, but you could just buy on skateboard for your pool and park needs and use a longboard like a Dervish, KS, Vanguard, etc. for carving, dancing and stand up sliding.

Re: Versatile Longboard
well, i've got this superglider set-up --> http://www.milehighskates.com/catalo...oducts_id=1462
and it carves great, and now that i've learned good technique, those wheels are beautiful for sliding with the rounded edges! the board is pretty comfy to stand on too, and has nice concave. it's got a kick tail too so i imagine it'd be a decent park board. plus, i feel like it might be a bit hard to grid some randals...the indy's are the same style as a street deck so yeah...
