    Default new guy choosing between something cheap or the loaded fish

    should i i get something cheap like a sector 9 or the loaded fish. is there much difference

    well, there's a lot of different S9's, some closer than others...
    there's similar boards by other companies too, the 2 diamond tails by Gravity for example.

    The difference between a mass-market board and a higher-performance one are sort of subtle and not immediately apparent until you've been skating for a while.

    I personally would just skip the entry-level stuff. Instead of dropping $150 on a board you won't like in 3 months, spend a little more and go straight to something good. Also, non-s9 longboards generally have good resale value if it turns out that skateboarding is not for you.

    i'd go used and get a better board. i'm not one to rag on sector 9's, but i skipped that stage and went straight to a more expensive board (coincidentally, the loaded fish).

    if you're interested, i've got an oak loaded pintail for sale. for a decent deal to a newbie PM me if you're interested; just tryin' to spread some stoke. (and it seems everyone digs loadeds, haha)
