What's the weight of the deck like? Light? Heavy? In between?

Wait, so I hear the Sojourn is actually a bit stiffer than the Spliff? Isn't bamboo a lot more flexible than maple? From the Bustin website i can't tell how many ply's are in the Spliff, is it all maple or what?

The Spliff is 7-ply all maple. Don't know about its flexibility in relation to the Sojourn.

I just find it odd that a board that is longer and made of softer wood can be any stiffer.

The Sojourn is a 7 ply: bamboo, maple, hemp fabric, bamboo, hemp fabric, maple, bamboo, in that order I believe.

I own a loaded vanguard flex 3 now, but it is too flexible, too long, a bit too high off of the ground, doesn't have enough concave, and it doesn't have a kick tail. I found the sojourn to be a perfect replacement, but I was worried it wouldn't have enough flex. I weigh 150lbs and I'm 5'9". As long as it has a good rebounding snap kind of flex, i suppose I'm fine. I just want to make sure.

Sorry to bump a semi old thread but has anyone here got more impressions of this thing? It looks a bit pricey but it looks near perfect for what i want! I also am just hoping that my around 145 lbs would give it enough flex. Also with the nose like that are nose manuals/shuvits hard on it? thanks anyone who has one

I would love to get a sojourn. I have a Spliff and i love it to death. I'm only about 110 so idk if it will have enough flex or not. Anyone that has ridden both and can tell me a comparrison.

Evil, throw some stock Randal bushings (green cones or new ruby clear cones) and you will be golden. I used the Crail/Randal bushing set up in a Sojourn for a few months, I can almost guarantee you'll love it.

Sweet, I have ridden both extensively. I would say the flex is comparable. In fact to me the Sojourn is a bit more flexy once you break it in.

Now that I have ridden every Bustin board except the Cigar I can have some more input on this thread. The Sojourn I owned for a couple months. Its a great great deck and worth every dollar you pay. It starts out somewhat stiff and dead, but don't worry, it breaks in as the plies start to bend. Eventually, once it is fully broken in (which took me about two weeks) it would bottom out on me if I jumped a foot in the air and came down real hard at 145lbs. I bought it because it is pretty small and portable but can still handle speed (I took it 35mph many times with loose RII 180's). As you know, it looks like a dream, the custom graphics and all are a plus, too. The only reason I got rid of is was because I made myself a 30" mini with Bennett's and used it as my little commuter board. After that my Sojourn got less usage so I traded it for a Complex for the faster crazier stuff. Amazing board as well!

The Spliff is a great deck as well. It takes a little bit longer to fully break it in and rides a little higher and stiffer. My friend bought a Spliff about a week ago and it only flexes down about an inch with his 180lbs on top of it. The Spliff is a fair amount shorter and has more nose room than the Sojourn. It can actually take speeds pretty well but I would highly recommend the Sojourn over it for a relatively short board. If size doesn't matter, go with the Complex. It's a dream.

as far as the tail on the sojourn goes, is it flexy? the worst part about bamboo boards with tails is the tail tends to be flexy and stepping on it just feels weird. i'm thinking about getting a sojourn for shits and giggles, and i'd hate to get something with a flexy tail.

I really like this board. Do you think it would be a good cruiser and do the 71mm give you any wheelbite and do the wide trucks hit your foot at all while pushing?

What size trucks you put on that thing? 150's or 180's?
