I really want to try a Glider to compare the boards.

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
YEAH!!! thats what i ended up doing too!!!
i went through randalls, paris, core, bennets, gullwings chargers, M1s, bennet/rts, 149-215 indies and same for trackers. and found my sweet spot on soft bushings ) blue cone and barrels khiros all around) and wide ass indies. trackers felt dead though.. which i found weird... but yeah... ive tweaked this board alot to get it to where i like it. for some reason i find it better for me to run my trucks loooooooooooose. makes those powerslides as easy as a prostitute from a dollar store.

On the glider if I used wider trucks, I'd just run softer bushings.
I got the 169's on it right now .

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
I need everyone's help.
I have a widerglider set up with some Gullwing mission 1's with khiro bushings, but they don't cut it (its all I had).
As soon as I get enough money I'm upgrading my wheels, and my trucks.
I know I'm getting 66mm Road Rages, and I had though about getting Randal 150mm...but it seems that most prefer a non reverse kingpin truck. I don't know what to get, or what size to get. I'm looking to do campus cruising, carving, and maybe a little drifting/ non tech sliding.
Any suggestions are appreciated. I was thinking Indy 149's/169's..or Ace 155's. I don't know what size would be best though. Also what size bushings will fit those, and what size risers?
Thanks

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
I am 100% satisfied with my Ace 66s on my widerglider- w/ roadrages (excellent wheel). I had 169s on my old OG Glider and I am happier with my current setup. Just my 2c.

mission 1s wont feel all that different from indies. your fine. ^_^ and i think they are actually lower still!
people underestimate those M1s.

So you think if I just upgraded my wheels and bearings I'd be about the same? Right now I have them set up with Khrio Red barrel bottoms and Khiro blue cone tops. Sound good?
I actually just put some Abec Gumballs on it, instead of the S9 trash....and its rather nice, so it will deff hold up till I can afford Road Rages. The only thing about it now is its tall..

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
i've never ridden gullwing mission 1 trucks, but i've never heard any good about them either.
is it the turn or the roll speed/acceleration that you're displeased about? if you're more specific, we can help you out a bit better .

M1s are hi-rise, higher than either Indys or Aces.
I personally hate them on boards with a longer wheelbase than 20", but that's me. They turn very slow. If you look at the pivot, it's hooked, moreso even than a Dart hanger.
Then look at an Indy or Ace, the pivot is more inline with the hanger face. Coupled with the tilt the BP (especially Cores) puts them at, makes the turn quicker.
There are certain ways to tweak M1s (I think, I've messed with older ones) to make the turn better, but it's been so long since I've owned gullwings, I'd have to think about it for a while....

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
well i just ordered my first wide g
Trucks: Indy 169s
Bushings (make, model, color/duro): stock
Risers (lowerers'): 1/4 inch Khiro flat hard risers
Wheels (make, model, size, duro): Orangatang 4president 70mm 80a
Bearings: Bones Reds
Riding Style (cruising, carving, downhill eek!): cruising, carving, ripping
Riding Terrain (park, street, garage): streets, garages,
it hasnt been delivered but im damn excited
was it a bad call to go with the orangatangs? i wanted the 70mm for my rough streets, and the orangatangs werent any extra w/ the complete so i couldnt resist
I noticed more people run smaller wheels on the indy 169s in this thread and Im really hoping this isnt a recipe for wheel bite, or should it be ready to rip?

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
1/4 riser + 70mm offset wheels + 169's = bite (at least for me)
you need more riser or smaller wheels

put a wedge on the front and the back ( wedged both no dewedge ^_^) and youll clear 70mm wheels and up to 72mm no problem. ( bite is more pron in the back so a wedge with a 1/8 or 1/4 on teh back and you can clear up to big zigs. )
and this is with sloppy sloppy loose trucks. with soft bushings.

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
i only have an angled riser in the front and a 1/8 and angled riser in the back with my retro freerides. i also have the setup with 215s but ive run the same with 169s and its still bite free.
its not that high... about the same or just a little higher than most of my dropthroughs.

running this exact set up with medium bones hc's, and no bite with my 180 pounds.
1/8" riser, soft bones bushings and 66mm wheels are in this boards future though..

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
I hear indy 169s bushings are mad shitty, so i plan on getting new ones,
i have 1/8 inch risers already i plan to try too if 1/4 is too low
i was really hoping i could just open the package and jump on this fresh longboard that instant and ride away
