Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
Sorry for the constant clutter I post on this thread...
How much is the hanger supposed to be out of the pivot cup?
This is what mine looks like:

Is that right?

Have you seen it when you are standing on the board? The Pivots on my supercharger and my brother's Hypercrave look like that static but when we stand on them they sink in and work as they should

EW wheels are always worth the extra dough.
Why 66mm instead of 70mm?
The blue bushings will fit my weight?

No. Pivot should sit flat in the cup regardless of what weight is on the board. Anything else will lead to an inconsistent ride and unnecessary wear.

I guess that depends on how loose you want to go....

A little "float" on an un-loaded board is OK. When you stand on the board, the pivot will sink down into the cup, making proper contact.
If your trucks' pivot cups are worn, e-mail me with your address and I'll put some hard Khiro pivot cups in the mail.
It was hard getting into a position where I could look at the pivot while putting all my weight on the board, but I did it, and yes, the pivot sinks down into the cup.
They're worn, but not all that bad. Don't worry about it. I'll just order a few extra sets along with my Retro Bushing pack, when that comes out.
Hard Khiro size small, right?

I would go with the new Orangatang Fat Free wheels. They're 65mm, a perfect size for the glider. I've heard good things about them, and they've got rounded lips which will give a much nicer slide.
I have the road rages and they're amazing, but if you want some more slide I would try the tangs.

yeah i was thinking about those but on a board with a wheelbase this short im a little worried about the rear slipping around too much. if this were for me i would seriously consider going for them, but since its for my 12 year old bro i feel like something a bit grippier would be a bit more wise. he will barely slide this at all i imagine, but a bit later down the road i want him to have the option of drifting around turns and doing a bit of freeride here and there.
maybe the lemon zigs might be nice? or maybe im wrong and the fat frees wont have grip issues? if the fat frees came in orange i would go for it, but i freeride on a hustler and even i would hesitate getting a wheel as drifty as the fat frees (or comparitively durians). i wouldnt even be able to carve or take sharp turns at greater than 15 mph once they were fairly broken in, and i cant imagine the effect would be less appearant on a shorter board like the superglider.

I haven't tried the fat frees, but if you're worried about grip then I say go with the road rages.
they feel like they were built for the glider. and yes, once broken in they drift smoothly.

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
I have had both RR and Fat Frees on my glider. No contest the RR are better on that board. Once broken they drift about as well and they are great for cruising around. I think most people would agree that if an all around board exists it is the superglider so you are better off setting it up with good all around components.

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
i just got my sg set up
indy 169s
otang 4 presidents (70mm, 53mmWIDE, 80a) i believe
stock indy bushings
and quarter inch risers
bone red bearings
and after breaking it in a bit i found i really wish i got 66mm wheels and some softer bushings, the board really is made to be ridden low and in control, dont want to jack it up with risers just to clear big wheels
i havent gotten wheelbite yet with 1/4 inch risers but it looks pretty likely if i were carving hard, i havent had any trouble but im more or less expecting to, another factor keeping me from riding it to the fullest
the board does ride well, extremely stable for its size, but with shitty bushings combined with 70mm offset wheels its turnings a bit limited, to say the least
ill stick with this set up for a bit longer but i plan on buying some 66m zigs, a couple sets of bushings to see what i like, and angled risers. in case i decide to stick with the 70mm

I would say they are similar in overall smoothness. Both work well on all kinds of pavement. The RR have the edge in that once broken in they will be better for drifting and sliding. I love zigs but at least the lower duros are very sticky. You won't get much slide out of the 78a's. I also find the RR to be very fast.
