Doubtful, ive been thinking about what would happen though. Like lets say you gave your old one to Brian and got $30 off a new glider (you dont expect half off do you?!), would you be ok with that? And like lets say Brian could sell the one you gave him for 50 shipped, would you be ok with that?

It seems like it would just piss you off more than make you happy. Too much of a hassle and too much pissed off people would result.

I wasn't serious, but it is interesting, lol. The only way it would work if Brian had some value for the old gliders, like if he could refurbish them or make furniture

you can send me your old superglider, I can make something out of it and then give it to someone who needs it.

I just put up a thread about it. check it.

    New place need's skate furniture!

And I'm super stoked about the new ultra glider. Best thing about it, The people asked.. and Brian givith to them! EW never ceases to amaze me! And this is why they have always and will always be the best longboard company IMO

I know this has been beat to death but wanted to solicit some help with setting up my Superglider. Just bought one of the blem decks that Brian is selling off and I wanted to set this up with parts I already have.

So.... since Indy's are the preferred truck for this board I have the following parts in my collection: Indy 215 hangers/base plates, Core baseplates, lots of bushings but I currently ride my Hybrid 215's on red elim bottom/ sabre cone tops. I own GFH Fatties 66mm 78a, Otang Fat Free 66mm 83a, 70's flashbacks 81a, Krypto 65mm 78a. I also own a Khiro wedge kit and a whole bunch of 1/4 and 1/2" risers. (just for options I also own R180's 42 and 50, Bennett 5.0's, Tracker RTS/X 149's)

I'm 6"2" and 225lbs if that helps at all. Basically, I want to avoid purchasing another set of hybrids or regular Indys but would not mind buying hangers only (if I could find them). Can anyone recommend a set up with the parts listed? If I need to I can afford 169's but that will put me at more trucks than decks and my GF is already angry that I bought another deck

With 215s and Fat Frees, you may be able to run it with only 1/8" riser or possible (depending on truck tuning, obvs) none at all. I'd go something along those lines, or wedged a little if you prefer the feel. But since it's built with a little nose wedge already, maybe try it as designed and take the experimentation from there.

Unless you're running wider offset/sideset wheels, 169s actually bring the outside edge a few cm inside the rails on a widerglider, which I never like but doesn't bother some folks.

Haven't ridden a widerglider with 215s, only 169s and Paris, so there may be an issue I'm not aware of.

the issue is that its less fun
turny gliders ftw, you need 169s at the least

Yeah, I know what you mean. That's why I have hybrid 66s instead of 215s on my boomerang.

Guys thanks for the fast responses. So what I am gathering is that 215's work better with off-set wheels, but the preferred set up is 169 hangers and center sets?

So it looks like I should get the 169's. Does anyone know if I can buy hangers, or even Ace 66 hangers? I have bought hangers from Randal direct before when I busted a bearing and ground down my axle threads, but I cannot find anything from indy corporate that distributes hangers solo.

you have to buy the complete truck. Ace 66 hangers are officially gold now, good luck finding them

    149+ Sideset
    169+ centerset wheel
    215+ centerset wheel

^Thats a good formula. I run 149s with centerset and have no issues (but my wheels are 61mm to avoid bite). Also, it doesn't really matter that much, its all preference.

That is what I feared. So I guess I'm sending MHM some more $ this year, haha. Either that or I can cannibalize my roommates pig board that has 169's on it, but I think he might notice.

Rodgon- didn't you used to run 215's on your Superglider? What's your opinion on my dilemma?

Hybrid 169s and a 65mm-ish wheel. Risers will depend on how loose you like your trucks, but 1/4" is a good starting point. I run my trucks absurdly loose for my 200 pound weight, so I tend to have a slightly taller riser than most (normal) folks.

i did and i plan to once again when i get my seconds one i ordered a few days ago. i normally run the front flat with no risers ( which allows me to run up to big zigs no problemo) and the back wedged ( you heard right, wedged, not dewedged, wedged.) to make it a ridiculously turny setup. ( setup like that you can standup slide at 2 mph easy! and yet if your used to loose trucks you can take it to 25-30 mph and still be good.

i personally dont like hangers under 180mm ( which 215s are right?) on it... yeah it makes it more turny, but you have less clearance and wheel options. plus having the wider hanger allows for more controlled standup drifts and slidyness ( if its even a word. lol) at speeds. i might have to throw my SurfRodz with axle extensions for extra massive driftiness ^_^

Ace 55s are the same width as 169s

    @rod, 215s are 184 mm

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the help. I am planning on trying out the 215's that I already have just to see what I like/ don't like about the setup. My roommate said I could put his 169 hangers on to compare the difference so at least I don't have to shell out $ until I know what I want. Gonna play with both GFH fatties and the Otang Fat Frees on the wheel side and stick with my Elim/Sabre combo on bushings so I have a base line to compare with.

Rodgon- I think I'm gonna try your wedged back but was curious as to what degree you are running.
