EW JUST got stuff back in stock last night. They're posted on his site, so buy now or forever hold your peace. These are the new carbon SuperGliders, I think. The only ones available are the 4 ply through the EW site. Other distributors will have 5 ply versions.
Yup, it's been confirmed that at the company I work for, I'm officially known as "That Skateboarder Guy". I think I need a shirt or skateboard with the "That 70's Show" logo replaced by "That Skateboarder Guy".
Want list: Carbon Belly Racer, Jefferson, 2011 Deez Nutz, Spindrift, NL Mutt
Reason I'm not getting anything yet: I have WAY too many boards...

Those are damn nice. I like the fact they switched up the rider in street wear.

Too bad mine is already on its way with the DH racer type.

What does the 4ply change? More flex?

I really wish I could justify adding the new CF 'Glider to my quiver, but I own last year's glider and already have 3 board purchases this year and it is the beginning of the season. Supermodel or bust for me, I am very curious though as to the flex of that carbon 4 ply glider.

Bria n how does this batch compare to the previous batch? The 6 ply version with the thermoplastic weaving. If it has some more flex then I may consider buying another glider!

Brian told me the 4-ply carbogliders have a flex close to the original maple/glass narrowergliders. Which is that great, deliberate flex about halfway between a boomerang (on the stiffer side) and a hustler (on the softer side), if that means anything.

I got a 5 ply because my three year old trashed glider still rides like new and I wanted something a little different/stiffer. If that helps.

All I can tell you so far--because I can't afford to set it up--is that even the 5 ply is much lighter than the first run Widers. I need to trade something and get some 66s or 215s for this thing.

    edit:

Thanks Archy, it helps a bit
Is the 5 ply got the same flex than the last year WiderGlider then ? or still softer ?
    I'm 195 lbs ...

EDIT : as for the trucks ... carbon Herron would be great !! light as feather setup !

back to brian's original philosphy about every batch become thinner, stronger, better. I think I will jump the gun on the 4-ply teal ultraglider I love the flex of the original s-glass superchager so I'm hoping this will be similar. My widerglider is awesome but I also want something similar to the s-glass feel. My charger seems to mitigate vibrations a bit better than my widerglider.

It'll be a different flex than the maple/thermo gliders. It's basically the boomerang/mm layup on a maple core. I'd expect much more "response", even in the 5ply.

If I had trucks I'd be in a much better position to tell you!

Never tried the herrons but I like the way you're thinking. I'm gonna try to keep the weight down with 65mm 78a superballs. Those wheels are light. And fast. And I'm hoping that with 215s I can go with a little shock pad or no risers at all.

Brian has even smaller wheels than the 65mm 78a now? He has another set of red wheels that he says are specifically made for the new glider! Maybe the smaller wheel will allow you to run 55s/169s and a small riser.

Those gliders! The love right there! Imma get myself one when as soon as i get my ass over there. IMO I prefer the feel of the board of the narrow gliders compared to the first batches of widergliders. Maybe this'll do trick.

Brian said he put those wheels out so folks could run gliders with no riser. And he had a kind of crazy look in his eye when he said it.

    Quick question, just to clarify.

I didn't really get the terms and what not on the flex on this thing several posts above (clueless on the different runs of the boards), but I assume that this is essentially the narrowglider construction, made, wider?

No, it's the widerglider shape in the boomerang/mm construction, but over maple plies instead of aspen/purple heart v-lam. It's the flex that we're all hypothecating might be like the OG gliders.

And lol zumble. Welcome to the disease.

The flex that I, you and a bunch of others come back to over and over again?

    Yes, yes please!

Now I know my mission. Look for Brian, get this crazy dope board and hug him for reinventing the wheel.
