Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
Back to actual setups... Changed mine a bit, so much nicer now:
Trucks: Indy 149s
Bushings (make, model, color/duro): Bones Hardcore Medium bottoms/Indy stock tops (better than it sounds)
Risers (lowerers'): 1/8" (stock MHS, I think it's 1/8th)
Wheels (make, model, size, duro): 70mm 78a Flashbacks
Bearings: Bones Reds
Riding Style (cruising, carving, downhill eek!): Commuting with lots of carves and 4 wheel speed checks.
Riding Terrain (park, street, garage): Street, bike paths
Other wheels used: 66mm EW Superballs (black)--way too slow for commuting, too grippy for standups.
Miscellaneous: Got sick of slow wheels, so on a whim I threw my flashbacks on. Everyone (myself included) always complains about the (old) superglider not sliding very well, but I was pulling looong stand up speed checks at low speed with mine after a few minutes adjusting. So much more fun commuting on a slidy wheel than a super grippy one!

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
right now i have mine setup with indy 215 knockoffs an grippins, the best setup for this board aside from bennett 6.0s

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
I've updated my setup a little recently...
Trucks: Tracker darts - 139 in the front, 149 in the back (I got sold a mismatched set in a city I don't live in anymore, but it workes out ok)
Bushings (make, model, color/duro): Venom 85a barrel bottom, stock tracker top
Risers: 1/8" soft
Wheels (make, model, size, duro): 85a rat bones/81a 65mm no skools
Bearings: speedy lunatics
Riding Style (cruising, carving, downhill eek!): whatever
Riding Terrain (park, street, garage): wherever
Miscellaneous: I've just been messing around with what I have. I really like the feel of the trackers though, and I'm going to try them wedged soon. I'd really like to try some 84a 62mm alligators or something similar.

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
Model: New Widerglider (Green)
Trucks: Indy 169s
Bushings (make, model, color/duro): Bones Hardcore Medium
Risers (lowerers'): 3/16"
Wheels (make, model, size, duro): 65mm 78a EW Superballs (Thanks jmasta!)
Bearings: Reflex Bearings
Riding Style (cruising, carving, downhill eek!): cruising, carving, mild downhill
Riding Terrain (park, street, garage): Country roads, basement (gotta have somewhere to go when it snows )
Other wheels used: 66mm green kryptos (bah...)
Miscellaneous: I'm setup with the trucks in the front mounting holes (longer wheel base) and the board still holds up quite well to my 275 pound fat ass.
Edited to add:
Mine's a new widerglider. And, I slid the front truck back today to shorten the wheelbase today (have to try it all, right? ) It seems much happier under my weight this way, too.

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
I just ordered a green widerglider, when it gets here it should have this stuff if everything is compatible:
Board Shape (Widerglider, OG): Wider, green
Trucks: knockoff Indys
Bushings (make, model, color/duro): 90a Khiro gold insert
Risers (lowerers'): probably 1/4-1/2"
Wheels (make, model, size, duro): S9 Nineballs 74mm
Bearings: Daddies ABEC 7
Riding Style (cruising, carving, downhill eek!): cruising mostly, carving and downhill a bit as well
Riding Terrain (park, street, garage): Street mostly, possibly garage
Other wheels used: Might get some 70mm wheels in the future
Miscellaneous:

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
Yeah but it's all I have to spare right now. If they're really too big to use I'm starting to think about 66mm GFH Fatties, I have them on my mini and I love them, they roll over stuff just as well as my lemon bigzigs.

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
Board Shape (Widerglider, OG): Widerglider Yellow
Trucks: Indy 169
Bushings (make, model, color/duro): 90a Venom elims bottom, Bones hardcore tops(Hard back, Medium front)
Risers (lowerers'): 1/4"(Khiro 1/8" soft & Lucky 1/8")
Wheels (make, model, size, duro): 81a EW Freeriders
Bearings: DBS ABEC 7
Riding Style (cruising, carving, downhill eek!): Cruising, carving, and what ever I throw at it so far.
Riding Terrain (park, street, garage): Street, garage once I start riding them.
Other wheels used: None yet(May throw on a set of Retro freeriders.)
Miscellaneous: I just got and got to ride it once so far. The ride is nice but I may switch to an 85a elim or a Venom barrel on the bottom as I find the 90a elim got a bit more twitchy than I like for how tightness I have them at.(Most likely due to the rebound of the bushings)

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
mine arrived today
Board Shape (Widerglider, OG): widerglider, yellow
Trucks: randall 180s
Bushings (make, model, color/duro): venom standard 90a front and back
Risers (lowerers'): 1/8" soft
Wheels (make, model, size, duro): 75mm 80 o tangs right now
Bearings: bones reds
Riding Style (cruising, carving, downhill eek!): campus commuter, carving, pumping, sprinting, garages
Riding Terrain (park, street, garage): garage, flat land pushing, slower downhill
Other wheels used: 70mm grippings or 70mm zigs
Miscellaneous:
a lot of people are running small wheels but my campus roads were built in the 50's and are terrible, so i need that extra 'thane. the board is very light, seems very durable, and is low. no wheel bite with 180mm trucks,1/8" soft riser and 75mm o tangs!! a little bit wide right now, will probably change out the wheels soon. very happy with it.

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
wide, amber
indy 169 hangers with core baseplates and 2.5" kp
jimz white bottom front and back, 90a venom barrel in back top, 85a venom cone front top
no riser
ricta clouds (66mm, 78a, round edges)
biltin bearings
I commute, freeride, pump, side etc with this deck. it's quickly become my go-to setup.
I do these things on/in streets, bike paths, garages and gnarly secret access roads
I've tried this deck with EW smokers on soft (80a) khiro wedged risers with regular indy 169s and bones hardcore blues in front, blacks in back, and it was alot of fun. I also threw the lemon freerides I just got on with the same riders/trucks, also very badass. not as good for pumping as the smokers (which I can actually do some moderate LDP with) but way more fun for, uh, freeriding.
Oh also, I did rub my wheel wells a bit deeper with some grip tape on a wheel, I get just a hair of bite every now and then with no riser, mostly just when I'm pumping hard at slower speeds on the heelside rear wheel. I plan on putting some shockpads on and maybe rubbing the wells a bit deeper again if I stick with this kind of riserless setup... but honestly I think I may go back to wedges, in which case bite isn't an issue (up with 72mm I know, anyway).

Re: Official Superglider Army Setup Thread
Those 74mm Nineballs were definitely too big, I have about 3/8" of riser and still got a bit of wheelbite. I'm thinking of trying lipless wheels. Are they preferable when just cruising? I don't do a lot of fancy stuff except for some light DH. I need new wheels and don't really know where to start looking.

Thats pretty much exactly what I said when I replaced the 66mm zigs for lipless wheels, but due to the lack of $$, the lime zigs are back on
