Longboarding Resources & Q/AGet or give friendly, patient answers to, "Which board should I get?", "How do I stop?" or "What's wedging and how do I do it?"
I wanna pick up longboarding; mainly because a few of my friends do it and it seems like a ton of fun. There's a problem though, i have no idea where to start.... what kind of board to get, prices etc. Im 6'0 145 pounds if that helps because i see weight and height being mentioned when it comes to choosing a board. Any help is appreciated thanks.
Don't forget krackedskulls.com
I got mine for cruising, bombing and sliding, and I love it.
Keep an eye out for a drop through board. It helps a lot when going past a few miles (since you are closer to the ground, you don't have to bend down as far to push) IMO.
I got the 42" Scimitar, Randal R-II 180's, Orangatang 80a In Heats, and some bone reds. It cost ~$215, but I had to make separate orders.
Never Summer Eclipse (daddies board shop may still have the only Orange graphic which is way better than the new green one)
Ive got one with 50* Randall's and if i wanna carve, i losen the trucks and it turns pretty sharp, and for hills, tighten up the trucks, and i would feel comfortable going 35mph on it.
NOTE: A board like that begs for large wheels to be put on it, so i would recoment BigZigs, (you'll need 1/4'' risers, but its totally worth a little extra height, i cant tell the difference really)
