Longboarding Resources & Q/AGet or give friendly, patient answers to, "Which board should I get?", "How do I stop?" or "What's wedging and how do I do it?"
Alright, I'm like 130-150lbs, 5'6" - 5'8", size 9-11 and in need of a board.
I got my liscence suspened so I need a relieable way to get to College down the street (luckily). It's mostly small hills and easy on the way down but on the way up mostly kicking the whole way. So, I need a board that is amazing for cruising and decent on downhills. Ive been rockin a Sector 9 kicktail (i think its the Rapa Nui but not quite) for 1-2 years with Randall with Randall R-2 180mm and ABEC 11 RipPin neon green wheels.
I need advice on what board (maybe new trucks and wheels idk) to get because this guy is gettin old and wanna replace him. anything ectentric is awesome
i use a Rayne Timeline deck with Tracker RTS/RTX trucks (front wedged) and abec 11 grippen wheels. Has a really nice flex to it, it's just enough to absorb the carve and then give you the rebound out of it so you dont kill momentum. The trucks have a really good RTC and the board overall is amazing to ride. It's only 33" tho, making it light but maybe too short for what you want it for
Earthwing Superglider or Supercharger...!
The best commuters around i think....beastly low and therefore good to push, stable enough for mid-speeds and a working Kicktail that even allow a real ollie ob the curb

I can second the Earthwing recommendation for a commuter. My Charger is great for pushing and can handle some speed. It might be a little long for cruising around campus if you're gonna be in any crowded areas, so the Glider might be a better option, even if you do sacrifice some stability.
