Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
Can i run a washer on the bottom of my smokies while keeping the correct geometry? Will that even matter because they're sphericals? I bought them used and the guy before me had no washer on bottom. Thanks a lot!
(If you have smokies), Are they supposed to be kinda divey at first? I have them setup with venom barrels 93a and it feel like there is a spot where the trucks aren't even compressing the bearings. Like running Randals really loose with hard bushings

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
do you fiberglass your boards? if so what type of fiberglass and epoxy is best and what size birch do you use?
thanks so much for all the help!!

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
flrider: i dont think so.
greg: those trucks are divey cause of what bushings you are using, they are made to use an oversized bushing like a jimz, that will keep it from being divey. and yes you can put a washer in the bottom.
aznmobsta: i have used glas before but not regularly. i dont remember what epoxy i used, but i can figure it out and post it tomorrow, the amount of birch you use completely depends on what yoy are building.

so you are not currently using birch on your boards? also what is the best siz birch for making flexy cruzing boards? i use 1/4"
-
Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
aznmobsta: i do use birch, but he amount you use with glass all depends on what you want it to feel like, and how much glass, and where and what shape you are applying the glass in. for a nice carving flex, if you are using no concave, the two layers of 1/4 inch will be a great flexy carver.
13lew: you can have one, but it will be a while before i can make one for you

sanding it down would probably be best, but not totaly neccesary, and use poly acrylic, about 10 coats, and you wont have to worry about water proofing at all

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
just wanted to announce that K-shizz has sent in his resume, and will be joining me to help answer questions. he skates 3 times a day, knows his stuff about carving and dancing, so will be a good addition to help keep up with quesitons when i miss them, and have a better knowledge about the dancing side of things, cause thats just not really my thing.
if there is someone reading this that is real good at slalom and would like to help noobs out, pm me with your qualifications, and then we will have most things skateboarding pretty well covered.
the only thing we would be missing is a good street skater, but i dont seem to run accross those questoins in here often

Give me the honor Dave?
The best way to take off grip tape is to blow dry it until the adhesive is loose, sticky, and hot. now take a knife and make a small slit under the grip tape. now just pull and heat as needed.

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
Here's a question: what's it called when you use a plank of wood (or something similar) mounted to the underside of your board to make it flex less?
