aznmobsta: i'd say go for it. i'm 135 and ride a flex 1. if you get into hard hitting freestyle tricks then you will feel much more comfortable with the stiffer of the two flexes. i had a lfex 2 but got the 1 because everytime i landed a trick i bottomed out. so if its a good deal, go for it.

DR1: I have only selected one person to help me with answering questions, and he submitted a resume so that i knew that he knew he was experienced enough to answer questions on here. you have not done this, please dont answer questions here. if anyone can answer questions then how is this different than any other thread.
jman: pm me pics and vids so i can be sure you are a legit street skater. and we are not talking about just being able ot land a kickflip or a treflip. Something real good, and we can discuss it further.
dzl: dr1 is right on this one, but he shouldnt have answered the question

lfatboy:
1. kshizz has sent me his skate resume, i've seen videos, and we have discust at length how this thread is to work, and to not answer questions that he does not know and have real experience in. he aslo is more experienced than i am in some other types of skating that i thought would help answer some things that i dont know that well. DR1 on the other hand should not have answered that.
2. yes, he actualy is supprisingly enough

(If you have smokies), Are they supposed to be kinda divey at first? I have them setup with venom barrels 93a and it feel like there is a spot where the trucks aren't even compressing the bearings. Like running Randals really loose with hard bushings
Here is a thread entirely about running Venoms in Smokies. Check it out:
Venom Bushings In Smokies
Some guys find them to be perfect with the spherical, while others have had trouble.

well geez Ryan, i think you might have surpassed me as a gear head, and you've now ridden tons and tons of different setups.

david, why do people on this forum always confuse doing tricks on a longboard with freestyle? theyre totally different!

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
xtra - I must say that I disagree. its true that the freestyle done on a longboard is different than the rodney mullen style of freestyle we see today, but different styles for different people, types of boards, and time period. I would really say that freestyle much more describes what people ususaly call dancing. or flatland as it has also been caled at times. but for the most part, people get too caught up in the titles imo. lets just skateboard, and if you dont think what someone is doing should be considered skateboarding, then you need to make fun of it, like we do to roller blades

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
After some searching, I think I am going to try a rts/rtx setup on a Rayne Timeline, but I have a few questions.
What is the difference in feel between tracker rts/rtx and randal 150s?
What is the difference in ride height between trackers and randal 150s? (Noticeable?)
I need to think of a clever signature eventually.

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
I have no experience with those, as they are typicaly a slalom truck, and i just dont know a thing about that stuff. probably a good general question. I'm also definitly an indi guy, not a tracker guy. just not a fan of the turning difference. totaly just my preference. but in any case, probably open this up as a general question, or ask mhm if you are going to buy from him. he would definitly know that one. but please only ask if you are indeed buying from him. thats always bugged me as a sales person

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
nope.. a myspace that i dont keep up is as close as i have. my thread here is actually better maintained than anything. I love making board, but i'm honestly not trying to sell very many, so a website seems like overkill to me for where i'm at right now, and how much time i can really devote to it

I'll have to find some time to shoot some decent video. Pretty jammed lately, but I've ridden 5 brands of prodecks (shopdecks ftw btw). I've ridden at least 7 brands of trucks. For wheels I really like to stick to rictas, but I've ridden almost, bones, and spitfires as well.
I've done this all extensively. Until it is no longer possible to ride the particular product.
Motion Samurai, Crails, 75a Flashies
Ralston Skateboards Outlaw, Stealths, Phat Rollz
Ralston Skateboards ICBM, Jim Z, pink 7-0's
LBL Sea Calf, Indy 215's, EW Smokers
LBL Bamboo Humu, Tracker darts on nylon plates, red alligators
Hosoi Hammerhead, Trackers, blank red wheels
Rural 7.75 Shop, Thunder Lights, ricta supercrystals

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
having ridden it and being compatant on it are two different things. sounds like you've ridden a bit, so thats good, looking forward to seeing vids and pics. but do them all through a pm. i dont want to clutter this with the discussion here.
and hoping that this sort of thing is a simple trick for you.
