Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
Arggh. This has been explained to me multiple times already, but I'm going to go ahead and ask again.
How do you initiate a coleman? I'm finding it real hard to 'kick' the board out. I can do a toeside 180, but I can't figure out how to unweigh myself while leaning back for a coleman. I've tried quite a few times, and I usually just end up turning left or falling off.

chaunce: drop your back foot on its side and dig your heel into the heelside rail and just push! also use a little upper body momentum to help you out if you can. its hadr to explain the upper body thing but its basically a twist of the upper body and a hard shov of the foot. it takes a real concious effort to really push your wheels out.

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
Yeah, carving is just riding, and then turning hard. Then turning back the other direction.
But I actually do have a somewhat noobish question.
What is the best way to keep stuff from getting in the clearcoat of a board while it's drying? I have a dog, so there's a lot of floating hair around and sometimes we get little hairs that we have to pick out.
Do you have a special place to store it while its drying, because that's what I was thinking about doing.

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
I dont know what to do in your situation. I honestly just do it in my shop, and am careful not to sand anywhere near it when its trying. but with a dog, i dont know what you should do. if its warm out you could let it dry outside. it even dries faster that way soemtimes. but besides that, i have no idea. I'd get rid of the dog

I guess she's not allowed near the workshop anymore, and I'll definitely let the boards dry outside. It was actually sunny and warm here yesterday.
Of course, I could always shave her fur off.

Quoted for humor, because taken out of context this sounds much different...
LESS HATE, MORE SKATE.
Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy #### we don't need.
