hey dude. i dont really get what you mean when you say the best thing to do to carve and slide.
but for tricks. try some cross stepping and hippie jumping. hippie jumps are fun to practice on boards over 40" cause otherwise i normally land in the wrong spot hope it helped.

when making a longboard do i have to use baltic birch plywood or can i just use birch plywood? is there a difference if so what is it?
I consider longboarding to be an art form, lifestyle and a sport... and thus the stoke of longboarding spreads but alas I live in the northwest where it rains all day and night.

I just got a Loaded Dervish (flex 2) 1 week ago,
    its got...
    Randal R-IIs
    Orangatang In-Heats
    Khiro Bushings
    and Bones Labyrinth bearings.

How do I avoid speed wobbles?
I begin to feel then at about 15mph
and my trucks are loose enough to make a u-turn around a normal sized 2-way road.
This happens even if I carve.

    PLEASE HELP!

that board isn't built for speed, that being said, if you want to use it for some light downhill here's some tips to avoid speed wobbles
keep most of your weight on your front foot, and bend your knees
also it may help to pick up some harder bushings
    are you using double barrels?
