Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
not a noob, my ego wanted to make sure I mentioned that, but wtf is a pendy? i've been left behind in terminology lately, I realize its a slide of some sort, but what exactly is it? From what I can infer it is neither a 180 slide, a speed-check, or a full on coleman, and its not a 360 either. Neither is it bangers and mash, or a purple pig in a helicopter, so I'm at a loss.

it's where you bring the board to 180(or almost 180) and slide back to regular in one motion, this can be done either toeside or heelside. You can do it with both hands or one hand on the ground, and you can either grab rail or choose not to

yeah, it's just a generic term for any slide that looks like a pendulum motion

the new landy drop carve has a nice snappy flex, and it seems pretty well constructed.
the rayne hustler is also a pretty b.a. board that won't sag too much

ok for sliding the harder the wheel the easier it is. but a hard wheel wont roll aswell. so if you still want to cruise you need to find a balance. something like abec 11 strikerz or Retro freerides would be good. or if you really like to slide something like earthwing super gliderz

.. I think you mean earthwing superballs, or earthwing freeriders. they make a board called the superglider, but not a wheel.
This is why if you haven't been granted permission to answer questions in this thread, then you should not answer questions. It causes clutter like this post, where you have one noob getting advice from another noob.

think you mean bushings
you can just flip your cup washers if you want, or home depot should have the right size washer you're looking for

I think I saw somewhere that loaded says they aren't recommended for use over 30 mph, I did take mine faster than that when I had mine though, so just whatever feels comfortable to you

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
hehe yes i meant bushings lmao. as you can see i posted that at 4 in the morning =P
also, i was planning on getting a landyachtz switch with grizzlies and some powerballs. for some decent carving and sliding would powerballs be good? i was also looking at venom sidewinders which i heard were awesome (and also leave red streaks)...
and bushing wise, i have some venom 85a standards and was thinking about getting some elims too. would 81a be too soft for me? im 135lbs.
and for bearing spacers, how would u find out what would fit for what wheel? i see like 10x10, 10x8, 8x8... etc.

powerballs are awesome wheels for carving and sliding!, I haven't tried the venom wheels out myself yet, but if they are everything zak says they are, then they should be pretty awesome. Just the fact that they're centerset is a big plus
I'm 130 and I've used the 81a elims as a bottom bushing before with 85a barrels on top and it felt pretty surfy, not something for going fast, but definitely a lot of fun
if you're getting powerballs, and have 8mm axles, then you should be getting 10x8 spacers
use 8x8 spacers if you're gonna buy kryptos or krypto shape hawgs

Hi, I just bought my first longboard, a never summer decent with gravity drifters 70 mm 83a,(http://www.daddiesboardshop.com/neve...te-custom.aspx), but I want to switch the bushings. do you have any example of harder bushings?

Mater of Skittles: Bushing set up is a really personal choice so it would be hard for me to tell you what you would like but if you tell me your weight then I can point you in the right direction.

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
ok, so im not sure if this is a noob question, as im not a noob, but i have some gullwing chargers with 10" hangers and a 50* baseplate. i want to get some gullwing bombers they have at the skate shop i work at, but i want the 10" hangers. so i want to know if i could fit the 10" hangers from the chargers onto the 30* baseplate of the bombers without problems? are the hangers interchangable for gullwings?
thanks!

it is a noob question, and often when you think you are not a noob you still are
it's not a bad thing, just means you got a lot to learn
the bombers actually have a 35* bp not 30* and yes the hangers are interchangeable between the chargers and bombers

Re: NOOB Questions Answered By Dopamine David
Would putting a powell tailbone on my rear kicktail make it harder to ollie?
I'm looking at the new Bustin Sojourn V2 and I would want to minimize scrapping the tail to pieces. I would have to cut the tailbone to make it fit the shape of the Sojourn's tail better. Thanks for the help!
