Longboarding Resources & Q/AGet or give friendly, patient answers to, "Which board should I get?", "How do I stop?" or "What's wedging and how do I do it?"
hello, i'm new to longboarding and i've been browsing the forum for a few weeks now. i'm looking at picking up a smaller board to play around with (nothing serious) just to get from point a to point b. right now i'm trying to decide between two stock boards:
i'm also open to suggestions. looking for a beginner board at most $125. also, are all stock boards the same or do some websites slap their hardware on decks because i've been noticing some price differences. any advice would be much appreciated. thanks!
personally i think gravity makes higher quality boards, really it's just a matter of preference, and you should see if you can try them both at a board shop.

I don't know about sector nine wheels, but the gravity wheels I have aren't that great. I'm happy with the Gravity Diamondtail board though. I'd suggest upgrading your wheels, you will be happier in the long run. Go with 66mm zigzags and you'll be golden
hmm...now i'm thinking about getting a gnome. anyone have any experience with this board? should i go with randal or paris trucks?
You can go with either, I'd go with Randal 150s. The gnome is a great board, and it WILL look sick. I wouldn't suggest a board that short for your first. Something like a Legendary Demon or a Gravity Mini Carve would be good. And S9 makes really bad wheels unless you get the Race Formulas, they are actually really good.
