    "Kevin,

    The axles are ready for pickup tomorrow. The inner radius of the 608 bearing was taken into account and incorporated into the bearing shoulder as you asked and the 4140 steel was very hard to machine... Solid stuff.

    Contoured bearing seats are great!! I have most of my slalom trucks machined to spec that

    I'm not the biggest fan of 4140 material used in axles tho.. It's tough stuff, but there are several better.

    If you precipitation harden it, it becomes one of the better choice for a truck application.

    Don't ask me why I know that.

    Yeah...like the hanger and everyting is cut from one billet of 4140?
    Could be he's simply referring to cutting/turning the axle threads and/or the steps as the "machining". Maybe not. Definitely intriguing.
