Re: What's New at xvd Longboards?
quick, slightly off topic, question for XVD
Are you guys using Inventor Studio for the renders? Or a separate rendering program?
Nice boards btw, I've been thinking of picking up a croc before I head off to college

Yeah all the boards are designed in Inventor. We export the shape to Illustrator, save and apply it back to the Inventor model, and then we render it in Inventor Studio.

Re: What's New at xvd Longboards?
just want to say i JUST opened up my new xvd bamoo pin! i actually received it about a week ago but i was at school so i just got home yesterday to play with it!
set it up this morning w/ indy 169s and will give it a good thrashing when i bring it back to school on monday!
first thoughts after setting it up.
- it is light as hell!
- VERY nice flex for my 135lb frame
- looks very shiny awesome (but not for long =P)
i will post a more detailed review of the ride as the week goes on and as I tune in my setup. (I never really ridden indys except on shortboards so indy setup advice would be swell)
all in all, i would like to say very nice job Rob! i think this board will be my next go to board.

Re: What's New at xvd Longboards?
Have a bunch of new boards to post tomorrow.
Figured I'd mention some stuff we have coming down the tubes, like the option to get a small kicktail on the pintail and a bunch of new graphic styles. Stay tuned.

Re: What's New at xvd Longboards?
I've still not been able to ride extensively, but I am in love with that Croc!
I'm running Randal 150s (flipped) and some lime Zigs.
It carves like a freakin' DREAM! It's really wide and comfy, it's pretty light, you can pull off tricks like it were a trick deck, it has just enough flex to make it comfy; but it's still plenty stiff.
I don't see how the tail is "flimsy" like some have said. Of course, I did get the stiffer flex for my big self.
I'm planning on slapping some Indy's on it and some old supersliders and taking it to a ditch later today. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

i also havent understood those claims, i havent experienced the issue on either a normal croc or a croc3
good luck with the ditch endeavor, cant wait to hear how it goes!

Bertz or Fat Frees. That's what I'd put on it if I got it. IDK what you are planning on doing on it tho.

randal/paris 150s are good, bennetts are good, and i would imagine that trucks like ace and independents would feel nice, but i have no personal experience with the last 2 on the croc 3. although i do know that indys are nice on the normal croc. as far as wheels go the otang freerides were like a dream, i used the 70mm stimulus ones, but i imagine fat frees would be fine too. any other questions pm me and id be happy to help

I would love a review of the CarbonSpeed44. I'm REALLY liking everything about it, except:
-I'm not sure if the concave will be enough for me. [used to shortboarding concave]
-I would like a graphic on the bottom, regardless of it being carbon fiber, but that's just me :P
Does anybody have one? [Or do you have any made, Rob?]
Edit:
I like your cat.

the bamboo pumper is very fun, and im in love with the intruder setup with otang freerides, and some randal 180s that i rode a couple weeks ago. im about to hook myself up with one

croc is pretty stiff, and so is the croc3, except for a nice flex in the middle with the camber, which is great for pumping and gives a great surfy feel

2 of my friends have them i will try and get them to write a review. i can tell you that the concave is excellent, i feel crazy locked in riding it, very secure through turns and such. one thing i will say about it is that its a little difficult to slide due to the long wheelbase, but i also found that to be beneficial to increasing speed through turns because it could take the turns without drifting. i agree with you on the graphic, although i would still want to see a good amount of sexy, sexy carbon fiber email rob about it and im sure he'll talk to you about options here
