Re: Introducing the Venom SideWinder!
There are super overly so any hill over 50km/h just sucks. Sliding on overly wheels is #### as there kind of jumping along the road as you slide. I'm running classic free rides now and in 2 days there already down to 60mm. Best wheel for standies and they leave fat than lines (better than lines than venoms leave).

From what I scrape together...you're speaking of ovaled wheels...which is a result of your riding...and is hardly the inherent characteristic that you make it out to be. In my experience, these wheels are less prone to ovaling than many others. Sorry you had a dissimilar experience.
This is Silverfish, take it with a grain of salt. It's fun to come back to at the end of the day, but nothing beats the real deal. Make your own judgments and form your own opinions. Remember whose lens you're looking through!

Yeah, it took me a while to figure out what "overly" meant.

Why would you wait ? they're center set, flip 'em and ride 'em to the core.

Re: Introducing the Venom SideWinder!
I recently made the switch from cadillac wheels (most fun and awful quality wheels in my opinion) to these, hoping the sidewinders would slide as well as the cadillacs without getting comical flatspots and wearing away super fast. They are such a great change, super slidy and reasonably fast, they are wearing down at a comfortable rate, and they're centersetness tops off a great wheel with the choice to flip em when they start to oval. Thanks Venom, for my favorite wheel yet (out of kryptos, cadillacs, yellow durians, yellow stims, some super old sector 9 wheels I sanded down to make a thinner contact patch, purp stims)

do these wheels break traction easier than amber freerides? the contact patch is the same but im not sure about the urethane depth or how drifty the urethane is.

Re: Introducing the Venom SideWinder!
zak maytum should come out with a harder duro for these wheels.

I would assume so. I've only ridden the Freeride shape in 77mm/84a, but they were definitely grippier than Sidewinders, and they didn't slide nearly as smooth

Re: Introducing the Venom SideWinder!
Stims are icier, but break free a little bit later due to the lip shape
Sidewinders transition from grip to slide with no chatter. One second you're gripping a corner, the next you're slowly drifting out with perfect control.
I was doing an easy toeside corner at about 25mph on these (no hands) and could feel all 4 wheels gently starting to break free
