Re: Galac "Galacized" Bennetts
Man...if we could just combine the power of your Bennets and Griffin's Bennets we could take over the world!
OK, maybe not take over the world...world domination would require the addition of sphericals.
*insert something witty and/or cool here*

Feel free to jack the traditional construction -- a few friends can attest to why...
Definitely upgrade to Grade 8.
And I'd highly recommend the original/standard pin orientation.

As of right now, I will be offering a Grade 8 kingpin swap.
It will be an extra $3.00 for a Grade in them...
Heavy duty Red Loctite will do it what I need for the swap..
I use the pricision Locitite to hold the pin in my bennetts

The only simple option is JB weld ro something of the sort,
which would work fine, but is that acceptable?
.
it's the knurls that spell certain death of the stock pin...
the red loctite and JB weld both seem to work best for our heaviest pin breakers. Camel had luck with a Devcon 2-ton epoxy.

Re: Galac "Galacized" Bennetts
Ive replaced the KPs in a few Bennetts now and can say two things. Ive never broken an upgraded grade 8 (although i have broken the stock KPs) and the red loctite 262 works great. Its a semi permanent bond, which means if it ever does break, i can still get it out of there (unlike 2ton epoxy) but it still sticks securely after several hundred miles of rough riding. The only issue with with loctite is it activates in an anaerobic environment, which basically means you have to get it air-free before it bonds well. Normally, this is achieved through the threading, the space is tight enough. But with installing a new KP, the tolerances are rarely that close. Thus, you need to activate it by hitting the KP on the head several times, pounding it into place and cutting off its oxygen supply.
