Hmm, if tunnel made an 80a and 76a they could probablay get more slalom users on the STR's. Just my opinion.

STRs run harder than their stated duro IME.

    Thanks everyone for the input.

A couple things - regarding the rounded edges on STR wheels, that's why we have some sets of STR wheels now available with the trimmed edges, which makes them have the straight outside edge that some racers prefer.

As to harder duros, we are looking to expand the line in the near future so keep an eye out.

Why don't you guys make some 76mm square lipped wheels in STR thane? I'd LOVE a set of those for DH.

Touchy touchy, I was just making a kind suggestion. Let's compromise and ask for a nice 75 in a couple duros.

    Uh, they do make 76a.

I've got a set of the red/black 78a on my Tunnel Comp and they are smooth! I'm looking at the standard black 77a for my Honey Cruiser; I wonder if they're as smooth as the STR's.

adding to this old thread for reference.

I have the black-red's, been searching for a home for these, just got back from a session on old Sec9 Gavin Roots (Indy 169's) in near 100F Texas heat on very black pavement. Funny, these wheels don't heat up much, I gave them a good thrashing, speed checks and whatnot.

Bottom line, they are really F'ing tough wheels, great durable thane, no chewed up edges like my Red zigzags or OJIII 'hot juice' wheels. I find them pretty firm though, but good grip, and they will slide on little checks - haven't tried any big slides with them, though, so not sure about chatter issues.
