It's tough to measure, but the platform is approx 24" long (measured from start-to-start of the "humps").

Absolutely. I just assembled it, and although the streets are a little damp, it's pretty damn smooth.

Here's some comments based on this past weekend's riding:

Subsonic Highland 42 deck, Seismic 180mm quick/quick trucks (light green/yellow springs), ABEC 11 Flywheels 75a/83mm wheels. This is the first prototype model for this deck, and it was the initial "shakedown cruise." I'm pleased to report that the board rode exactly how I wanted it: fast and smooth. The 1.5" dropped platform gives adequate ground clearance for speedbumps and deep carves, and the wheel wells prevent wheelbite with taller wheels (I run a single 1/8" soft riser). The Fly's were fast, but drifted a bit too much for my taste. I'm going to try some trimmed 72a Avilas for more "stick" in the corners. The Highland's nose and tail have a negative 5-degree slope, but even with the negative wedge effect, the quick/quick Seismics were a little too turny. I'll be changing to a quick/stable combo with yellow/red springs.

    Some updates:

Production models will be stiffer/thicker. The prototype I'm riding isn't overly flexible, but I want the production version to be on par with other drop-platform decks.

Quick/stable Seismics work well. At 200#, the stock springs are fine for me. Note: I like my trucks loose, and am not a "bomber."

Smallest wheels I run are 75mm. 83mm Flywheels and 85mm Krypto's have no wheelbite with a 1/8" riser.

Production begins next week. We're looking at:

Three, 3/4" thick "firm" flex decks
One, 5/8" thick "med-firm" flex deck

Newschool drilling, blue stain, groovy Subsonic griptape, all other specs are the same as above. Price will be around $95.

I've been skating my prototype a lot, and it's very versatile. Carves great, is stable, and will slide nicely. Good blend of ground clearance and low center-of-gravity. Zero wheelbite with 85mm wheels and uber-loose trucks.

The Swift 38 project has been a huge success. We currently have one (firm flex) deck left, but may be scheduling another production run in the future.

The next project will most likely be the "giant killer." This will be a more affordable deck that still has the key features and construction for superior performace.

    Some pics:
