Black Diamond Sports... Goood.

I was wondering around in Palo Alto California while on vacation, and happened to stumble upon a skateshop called "Black Diamond Sports".

First thing my eyes were sucked to was the HUGE 97mm BRIGHT GREEN FLYWHEELS, GUMBALLS, NOSCHOOLS, FLASHBACKS, and many many others!!! I walked in, and they had multiple longboards that you are allowed to take out and ride around the store! I got to ride the flowboard, and I must say, it is simply amazing!! Did not seem twitchy at all, it was not slow and sluggish... and it carves like a dream! It seemed like I leaned it soo far that the board was at just about an 80 degree angle from its neutral position!!

They even had freeboards, speedskates, tons of loaded skateboards, skateboards equiped with randals, trackers, indys, and even originals! I must say though, I was not impressed with the originals at all. . I talked to the store owner for quite a while, and he was very nice, and was very happy to let us test ride anything and almost everything.

I have not tried ordering from them, and I am still not too sure about their prices... but from the hour or so that I spend there chatting and riding boards... I can say that this company would be a great company to support and order from! They gave us like 5 free stickers!

Skateboards that I tested:

Freeboard: I stood on it, very nice feel, looks very nice! I had no clue that the swivles had springs or something in them that snap you back to center... Very nifty and possibly very helpful feature!

Flowboard: Very fun to ride! The wheels were upgraded to the kryptonics... It was nice and fast, super carvy, and real grippy! I did not slide out once during my hardest carves! Very different ride. You can easily lean it as far as your ankles will let you, and as far as the grip will grip your feet! I highly recommend this board.

Loaded Hammerhead DCS: Boring... felt weird... looks very un-apealing in my opinion. I did not like it at all for some reason. The turning felt very un-natural.

Surf-Stick: Ooooo I loved it! Not quite as much as I loved that flowboard, but it was very nice and carvy. Effortless carves... The wheels provided very goood grip! I love how it rides. The one I tested was pretty flexxy, and the edge of the board seemed to scrape the ground in hard carves because of the flex and how far it could lean. Maybe I would have to get a stiffer version, or one with bigger wheels.

Original Trucks: hmm... I thought they would be better. You can lean pretty darned far, but they felt very dead to me. It did not take much force at all to get them to lean as much as they could. It just did not feel very smooth. I guess I could compare the feeling to running in ankle deep water as compared to running on the sidewalk... if that makes sense. I was not impressed.
