I'll have to try out some of these tips. I took my Ronins on one hell of a ride yesterday 20km run, look in the "dream location" thread & they were great, It was the first run I had after flipping the washer & the first good run on my new RADs too. Awesome combo, hitting hairpin after hairpin was effortless. Love your work Ronin, wouldn't wanna do it on any other truck.

I run 184s and biggie hawgs. i presume your asking about if the inside of the wheel will run on the hangar? If so, on 184s no there is rub, I believe someone had issues with 174's rubbing a bit though.

174's may need to be modified slightly to run biggie hawgs.

I'm running Biggie Hawgs on 184's too with no rubbing. I have 174's I can test them on tonight after work if you need that info.

No way! I'd rather have a half foot tall setup rather than run a cup.

I've said it before: I paid a lot of money for this lean. I ain't cuttin it down for any reason.

There's really no reason to restrict lean either. I run 0.75" riser to get clearance for RAD advantages, and it still slides just fine. I dunno why people fear tall setups. I suppose it does feel a little tipsy, and it's a little easier to get a board flip, especially with fresh wheels, but careful skating and proper technique solves any issues.

That's how I was! I had a 3/8" riser and a shock pad before I started using cupped washers, now I just run a shock. They give you all that lean and stop just before biting.

And you will never use all the lean that you get with flat washers while riding. Just saying, try it out for a few days, you might be pleasantly surprised.

I also prefer a low setup and a roadside cup. Its near impossible to get anywhere close to maxing out lean while at speed, and I feel like having a setup that is low keeps things tighter when things get scrubby, rather than tipping hard.

Everybody has their own preferences though, there is definitely no right way for everyone.

Cupped washer/no riser here too. Never get bite when moving. If you're not going to lean that far, what's the point of having it there in the first place? Peace of mind? Something about having the trucks directly mounted to the deck just makes me feel more connected to everything.

You guys are right, I'm going back to skating Crails. Lean is Satan.

OK maybe I'll try your cup washer nonsense later today and report back.

    Default Ronin Trucks

Now that we are on the subject. I want to run cast ronins on my airotica jefferson, which basically has a built in 1/4" riser. Could I get away with 70mm wheels on a 1/8" shockpad or a 1/4" shockpad? Could I run even bigger wheels with a certain setup?
