Vendor Guidelines

Feel free to post! This section is for you to post new items, specials, promotions and things you are working on. All offers are readable to both members and guests of the forum, so you should keep that in mind. PLEASE, try to use this forum for business, and to refrain from posting "I will make/sell you _____" in discussions held in other forums. If you're active here, and use a "signature" under your posts, our members will know you're a vendor. Go smooth, be cool.

Discounts to Silverfish Members are encouraged and appreciated! Not only is this a great way to give back to the community, but it will also help you keep track of where your Silverfish traffic comes from and how successful your promotions are.

Keep posts to the necessary minimum. Do not post multiple threads where one will do.

Do not post in other vendors threads, doing so is bad form and uncool. You wouldn't want others doing that in your thread, right? Either way, please don't.

Daily updates are fine if they remain in the same thread. Or one per month is fine. Please, do not post daily updates in multiple threads.

Take personal discussions offline. If a customer/member inquires about a product and it is not relevant to the thread, please take it offline.

It is not unusual for the inhabitants of the 'fish to seem hostile or suspicious towards new vendors at first. It is natural for people to be protective and not want to get ripped off. There are many people on Silverfish that keep an eye out for scams. Follow the etiquette and you will see this community of stoked skateboarders can be a great asset to your bottom line. Sometimes, it just takes the natives a while to learn to trust.

Be cool. If you've got a beef with a vendor, don't make personal attacks or complaints in the open. Please contact the vendor directly either by e-mail or PM. Often, these issues can be resolved but the complaint remains. You can find a list of all vendors that post on the 'fish here.

Keep things in the thread. This is a good place to provide productive feedback, both good and bad, for the vendors. Keep your responses related to the thread and try hard to make them informative.
