Where's Julian?

I talked to Julian's wife via Myspace and this is what she had to say.

"Jay is fine. I don't really get involved in his business affairs, because it's not mine. I did tell him that I got a few messages from people and a link to silverfish which had a few people saying he owed them boards or their money back as well as many people confused as to why he just got up and disappeared. He reversed all payments in paypal a few days ago, so everyone should have their money back. If anyone is left hanging, have them e-mail me at jkat_dncr@comcast.net. BUT ONLY if they are expecting a refund. Why he disappeard and stopped doing boards? I don't know. Why he didn't say anything to anyone? I don't know. Why he hasn't contacted anyone back? I can't answer that. I asked him about it, he was vague and I dropped it. It's his business and not mine. So that is as far as I am going to push it on that. I'm just making sure that people get what is owed to them. And honestly, I just as confused about it all as the next person."

So apparently he is refunding everyone's money, but if you haven't received a refund, you can email her. Hope this helps everybody out.

I hope that's true. I give all my respects to his wife; hell, she's a better business woman than Julian, whom I now consider a liar and a cheater.

I've already filed a claim and am taking legal action until I get my refund. Why the f*ck would he refund some people and not others?

I hate to say this, but this is the straw that broke this camel's back regarding custom/small-volume builders.

I too got the same e-mail from his wife. Said if you ordered thru paypal you should see balance credited back within a day or two, Today being a holiday and all.

Do similar happenings with small internet skate supply businesses also provide the straw that breaks the camel's back for all shops that start in their basements who might otherwise go on to provide acceptable levels of business relations?

i think he's sorta playing devil's advocate with guys who run (mail-order) skateshops outta their houses/garages...kinda saying, what makes them any different from julian.

i kinda see where BFA's coming from, what with him being a one-off custom builder, and you being a mom'n'pop skateshop owner. BUT, both of you guys have had a chance to build your reputation a little bit more than CLB has. and both of you guys haven't vanished from the face of the planet. and i'm proud to say that i placed an order from MHS just recently. so please please don't evaporate, mark.

Seriously, how can she not know whats going on with him, and doesn't want to push it? Sounds like more bullshit to me.

i apologize if my post came off as offensive, or insulting in any way. you're a great guy, mark, and i totally understand where you're sitting in all this...you can't be running a business when you're being jipped by suppliers.

i'd be curious to see BFA's response to my "interpretation" of his post

honestly, we're all in this together and i'd hate to see all of us get divided over a silly mis-interpretation of a post

You're on the money bucky.

Mark has understandable issues trying to set up steady supplies. Meltdowns like this one and the less serious instances that I and others find ourselves in make his job that much harder if he is counting on deliveries for his business.
However, meltdowns by suppliers have impacted customers and builders alike every bit as much as CLB's has caused problems for Mark.

When a supplier who is part of a group prone to the same issues small builders have says that the small builder is dead, I find it a little curious.

Do you want to be tarred with the same brush you are using on builders?
