It most likely wont cost any extra. I usually enjoy making the customs graphics more than the repeats since they're new/exciting. Plus the tree design is probably the most time consuming board design I've made.

Just shipped out three new custom decks.

This is the carbon drop through, minus the drop through and with red instead of the silver texalium, and purple on top. It has a mellow concave and camber, as well as an extra layer of 1/8 BB to accommodate a heavier rider.




Another carbon dropthrough but with red graphgic on top, made with a new 1/2in deep concave mold with no camber, also with an extra ply for added stiffness, after jumping on it I can't get it to flex more than a 1/2in or so.




Lastly a new shape that i'm pretty excited about, 37"x9" with cutouts and a kicktail. the kicktail is reinforced with fiberglass and carbon as seen in the above pic to keep it functional, and also has fiberglass on the bottom, it has a medium flex under my 180 lbs. Seems like a really fun board, i'm probably going to have to make one for myself. :-/ . Also I still need to think of a name for it, probably something bird related, like pheonix, or bird of prey, dunno if you have any ideas let me know if I like it I'll send a few stickers your way.

thatoneblahguy's board is shipping out today, Its a Key Lime Metallic Cobalt Blue Carbon Dropthrough with 1/2in concave, no camber and an extra layer of wood for stiffness, cutout fits randal, paris, and similar trucks.






The lime and cobalt blue combo turned out great, and it has a nice shine in the light.

Just shipped out two boards yesterday, one for meadowlark, and the other for an unknown fishie.

The Metallic Racing Green board is for meadowlark. It is top mounted to be used with originals, has mild camber, and mild concave with a flatish area in the middle 3" or so to keep it comfy. and made with 3 layers of 1/8" BB which should results in a medium, snappy flex. though in my experience originals add about 3" to the wheel base off a board with reverse kingpin truck so the board my be a bit more flexible.


The other board has a maroon/black faded stain, made with 4 layers of 1/8" BB and some deep concave for use as a DH board. Also, it has cutouts for crail trucks which (thanks to some help from mile high mark and the people at crail) I was able to design an accurate stepped cutout, allowing for more material to be left and resulting in a stronger cutout. If anyone needs a drop through template for crails let me know and I can send it to you.

Theres are a few more boards in the works one of which features a new method of applying custom graphics so keep an eye out for them.

So I have had my nelson custom for about 2 months now and throught I should post some feedback.
First off I want to say it is the single best mini deck I have ever had the opportunity to ride.
The kicktail is perfect, it allows for you to hook your toe around it for toeside kickturns.
The mellow concave is just right, enough to hold your foot in without bending your foot.

I use it primarily as a commuter. however It can be used for pools and slalom aswell.

Rich was great to work with and has amazing customer service. He really gets the idea of a 'custom builder' and makes some very unique decks.

Heres some pictures of it, The deck has taken a bit of a beating and has held up really well

I am not disappointed. My carbon topmount (the green one pictured above) is now set up and ridden. She's real likeable so far... nice curves and carves.

Well after finally getting it all I can say is wow. Its just unbelievably perfect. Mines the black and red carbon drop through. I have yet too ride it though should be giving it a spin later but oh my sweet moses this board makes me shiver. After I stuck the red crails on it and the gravity hi grades the board is perfect. Its flawless I cannot wait too ride this bad boy and my next board somewhere in the future is definatley going through nelson longboards.

This is the most fun board I've ridden yet. For those of you who might be considering buying something custom, check out Rich Nelson. He kept me updated with several emails while the board was being built and seems like a good guy. Anyway, more about the board:

I was looking for something longer to replace my Original Derringer. I wanted footspace, camber, a fair bit of flex, and wheel cutouts to fit the 85mm wheels I had. When I came across Nelson Longboards, I was most interested in his Seasoned Carver, but the Carbon Dropthrough was purtier to my eyes. I'm a sucker for carbon. I asked if he could make one without the dropthrough, so he did. The color was also my choice- it's a nice rich green that turns heads in real life.

I have it set up with Original S8s with red springs and 85mm 78a Landy Hawgs. It makes for a carving beast! My roommate compared it to a snowboard in powder. The flex is really nice. I'm gonna go ride it now.

Meadowlark, how do you like the 85mm hawgs. Ive been thinking about getting some larger drifty wheels since my usual 70mm tends to wear down rather quickly with regular sliding.

also I need to let everyone know that in a week or two I am going to have to stop taking orders until about may 9th or so, in order to make sure i can finish all of the boards before finals (which tend to take up 100% of my waking hours for about 1.5 weeks, the downside of being an engineering major). I'm currently working on 6 boards so depending on when i get orders I can probably safely handle about 2-3 more.

orders will resume at the beginning of may though and you can still contact me with questions etc. during that time.

To be fair, I haven't ridden very many other wheels, and I'm not into sliding. But with my background in mountain biking and skiing, I do know a bit about carving. I love the feel of losing traction through the apex of a carve and then feeling it hook back up again, and these wheels do so predictably and smoothly. As you would expect, the size makes them accelerate slowly, but they hold a lot of momentum and make sidewalk cracks disappear. I predict that the 82a version would be quite decent for sliding.
