Re: ~~~~~ Nelson Longboards ~~~~~
I just received my board yesterday (the custom blue/silver carbon dropthrough). I gotta say, its an amazing board. The shorter wheelbase give it a lot more maneuverability than my first pintail without sacrificing any stability because of the stiffness. The fiberglass on the bottom is durable, too--my board had a grind against a curb and there were no scratches on the board. The concave is amazing--deep, grippy, with plenty of gas pedal in the rear because of the wider board...you can really push the board out for hard heelside carves, speedchecks, and 180 powerslides. Colemans are also a breeze...
Current setup is randal r-IIs flipped, with abec11 flashbacks. i swapped hangers with my friend who is running gumballs and flipped the hanger, and had no wheelbite, though the board comes very close to it. I've got khiro yellow barrels top and red barrels bottom. plenty of carve and good stability for speed.
thanks man, it was awesome working with you for this board. maybe next would we could design a topmount speedboard...but that will have to wait till I get to college or something.

Yes, I go to MIT. But you don't need to be a genius to WEAR YOUR HELMET. Protect the one thing that will get you places in life.

Thanks for the feed back, I'm glad you are enjoying the board . It's definitely a cool/functional shape, you probably saw I made a board for myself that is the same shape just super sized.
I actually just got a message about possibly making a topmount speedboard so we'll see where that goes.

Do you have any potential specs on this idea? I'd be interested to see how that turns out.
Also, those rasta color boards look sick. I also have a buddy who absolutely loves my new deck and is saving up money for one himself...haha.

Re: ~~~~~ Nelson Longboards ~~~~~
oh my god. that is sexy...I might have to pick one up in the future. However, I'd personally like less wheel cutout in the front so i could have more footspace over the front truck for leverage...but that's just me. I'd also prefer a slightly longer one (32") for more wheelbase and standing room...but then again, that's just me. It's still a cool design, I'd like to hear feedback about the whole gas pedal idea in the back. I'm curious though, if you could reposition those gas pedals to suit the rider...which would be an excellent customization feature, if you could do that.

Re: ~~~~~ Nelson Longboards ~~~~~
Hey, I have feedback about the carbon dropthrough. The wheel cutouts you have right now for them are less than ideal. With centerset wheels (70mm grippins), I have gotten wheelbite. If you made the cutouts a little bit longer, you would have better wheel clearance.
Boards breh:
Comet Voodoo XL (OG shape) - 50* Calibers
Carbon Surf Finish Clutch Jailbait - Crails or Paris
Incline Fro Pick - Ace 66
Comet Shred 35 - Indy 169s
Not set up:
Galac GTCPLDP
Loaded Dervish
$70 + shipping for each?? PM me!

Irish_ wanted to be able to fit 75mm wheels with paris/crails and no riser so it needed somewhat significant cutouts. Since all the board i make are custum, adusting wheels base or the location of the gas pedals/notches wouldn't be a problem

Thanks for the feed back, which carbon dropthrough are you riding (if you can tell me to colors I can probably figure out when it was made) I have modified the cutouts of the board a few times to allow for more wheel clearence while maintaining maximum standing platform.

heres the originals proto, I obviously left a lot of material because I wanted to make sure the area around the cutout was strong.

kept the corners where they were but took out some material

moved the corners out a bit (larger standing platform) but made the cutout more angular, and added small wheel wells at the inside of the cutout.
I'm curious to know which version of the cutouts was on that one since I havn't tried running any center set wheels

Re: ~~~~~ Nelson Longboards ~~~~~
I think it's the new style, I can't be sure though. My friend got it within this year, if it helps.
It's my friend's board, but I borrowed it for a while. I set it up with paris 180s and grippins.
By the way, great job on the glass grip. It's really gnarly.

Re: ~~~~~ Nelson Longboards ~~~~~
Interesting...I ran gumballs (76mm) on my board with flipped 50* randals and they came darn close to bite but I didn't have any with hard riding. But then again, I'm not sure how my cutouts measure up to the standard one (i got a custom model).

Re: ~~~~~ Nelson Longboards ~~~~~
yeah, i got wheel bite with 72mm wheels and 85a venom barrels all the way around, but as soon as i put some 90a barrels on the bottom the problem disappeared
the heck is rebound?
