I didn't have a clue about picture loading either, so I borrowed what other sites offer and sandwiched the image URL between this [img][/img].

That seemed to do the trick!

    Talking Re: Virage Slalom Trucks

Hey Guys, just given the Virage' a good going over. Flatland 6' slalom with some stingers, about 30 cones. MMMMMMM impressed, the front, with blue Venoms, cone top, barrel bottom was outstanding and the rear as i already knew would track well and enable a good strong pump. I know you said they weren't designed for ultra tight, but that is beyond me anyway, but i think with my weight and power tight is gonna be a ripper. Really enjoying the precision feel of the front spherical, so immediate and responsive.

BTW did you see my idea for a DH truck, or is it too plain ridiculous/stupid to consider. t came to me while on the vino. i thought rather than change angles under the truck, change the angle on top of the baseplate. Anyways lovin' the V's.................

We are now in a position to offer LDP (Long Distance Pumping) specific Virages for delivery in April. These differ from the slalom versions, and are detailed here:
    VirageLDP

The regular Slalom Virages were tested to mimic the production Virage LDP, and have proved strong and reliable, as well as high performance.

Stridey, any chance you could make a 180mmDH hanger, similar to the LDP trucks , beefed up a bit. With your style baseplates, at say 35* rear and 42* front. I know it would not be anything new in developement, but damn they would look good.

The thing with downhill trucks, and widths, is that the kingpin to pivot distance changes, and we would also have to test big pivots versus small pivots....other things like axle design would need to be tested too. The wider LDP Virages have longer axle holes, so that will help us perhaps develop the downhill versions sooner rather than later.

I am a real fan of Kahalanis, so I would really like to develop something that adds performance on top of what I consider an excellent choice.

I do have a few ideas I want to persue though, and downhill trucks have to be part of the long term plan.

I took a few sets of Virages to Germany this weekend for the excellent king of the Rhine contest. It was great to race and show off a little and leave with less baggage than I went with!

So, a top 8 group A finish for me in the dual and a second place in the GS push start...(I was too scared to go off the mega high rickety thin ramp...if you have any form of vertigo you will sympathise!)

This (I hope) proves the trucks work supremely well, and under the feet of more talented racers I'm sure will perform even better.

We also set up a set of Slalom Virages to mimic the L.D.P. versions that will be released later this week. a quick pump along a path alongside the Rhine proved how nice they are and how nice a good L.D.P setup can be.

What is particularly nice at the moment is that people who bought rears are coming back for fronts...and some people have bought more than one set, and different versions too.

Seeing other people ride and race them is a reward in itself, and I am looking forward to seeing many more out there in future.

    A little stock update...

We have brought forward our new run of Slalom Virages due to demand, so we will have a new run of front and rear Vriages available from Monday 27th April.

Also, we now have only 1 set of Virage L.D.Ps left available until the next run. We are shipping the LDPs Monday, a trifle late as we were waiting on kingpins and left handed nuts.

We are actually picking the trucks up on Friday, but I am racing at the Swiss Tunnel Race in Zurich, where if anyone wants a set I will have them with me.

Its been a busy month for Octane and Virage trucks, the customer orders have all gone out, and the Virage L.D.Ps headed off around the world to happy customers. We have raced the trucks now in the UK and Switzerland, feedback has been excellent.

The next run of Slaloms and L.D.Ps are now being done, due in a few weeks, and we can now accept deposits, to avoid any disappointment.

We are looking at a number of ideas for DH trucks. Its very hard to bring something new to the party, most end up being Randalesque clones....

I do like the new GOG adjustable, having seen it in Switzerland, and I love my Kahas. Doing something that can really add something useful is a challenge.

So, definately something we want to do, something we would love to do.

We are just gearing up to do the next run of Virage Slaloms and the Virage LDPs. (Long Distance Pumping).

So far we have Virages all over Europe and the US and OZ. The LDPs are flying off the site, which is great news. We have brought in a new ordering system so you can guarantee your place in the run.

If you do make a DH hanger, please consider 170 and 180mm hanger widths. Do not just jump on the 200mm bandwagon. It isnt neccesary. I love the designs and the look. Kepp going.
