Slide pucks aren't exactly custom though. If he was cutting someone out $ sign shaped slide pucks then it'd be more understandable I think.

Yea true, bad comparison on my part, but you get what I mean right, its like he's gotta make each one and he's doing everything on his own + he appears to have a life so I have to sympathize with him.

I want $ sign pucks now

he hand cuts each and every puck? To his specs and uses materials no one else uses. Isn't that custom enough?
if they were manufactured in a factory but cut into $ signs would that be custom?

I dunno I bet he buys rods of green UHMPW and delrin or whatever, and then cuts them to the width, and puts bevels them...

Yeah, true...and he does have different sizes for the thumb and finger puck sizes...idk maybe he just gets different diameter rods...

but nevertheless, sounds like hard work.

The velcro is well placed on the fingers and palm, but on the thumb, the velcro is placed on where your fingernail should be, not on the "inside" of your thumb....

Maybe I glued your's in the wrong spot, but the thumb velcro was actually put there for a reason. I tried different spots and that one worked out the best. Having it right along the seam keeps the pucks from folding over (you want the pucks more toward your fingernail, or they will fold in and your glove will get shredded). This design also allows you still to grab your board with the inside of your thumb. Not to mention, the velcro won't hold well if its adhered directly over the seam

The gloves might fit you differently, but on me the velcro patch + puck lays flat on the ground when you put your hand down (not so much when you're just wearing them around)

(I don't have any gloves with velcro on me. So i just drew on my work pair)

I've heard of a few people's strings breaking. I don't think these were really designed to be tightened and loosened everytime you take off your glove. What I recommend is to tighten the string to a point where it is tight enough to keep the gloves on, but still loose enough that you can still get your hands in and out. This has worked very well for me.

Nah, mine were right in the middle of the nail side, so farther left of your drawing...

but its all good, I superglued the velcro down to fit my needs!

yup seven different diameter rods with all my different materials. And you have to buy them 5 feet at a time! aaaaahhhh! which sucks b/c you need twice as many fingers as you do thumbs!

BTW, I just found out that if you print your postage online, they give you free tracking numbers! yay! that should clear up a lot of confusion

I ripped both of my strings off while tightening them. They still fit fine though so it doesn't matter IMO.

i got my gloves today just as i was complaining to Jmasta about the shipping
review time....

first off i opened the box ( very secure, took me awhile), and the pucks/ gloves were still packaged nicley despite the ignorance of the postmasters. full glove full pucks mechanix with greenhorn.
im not gonna lie they looked amazing!!! even better then in the pics. and you really dont get a fell for how big the pucks are! the palm is a beffy lil son of a bittch and the fingers look like theyll hold up for ever as well.
so i was "sick today" and didnt go to school about noon i took these guys out on my dh set up ( nemesis with some bears venoms and Speed Vents) loosened the trucks and had a blast. they slide like butter are pretty quiet and verry fasst. yet still under controll. the axtual gloves were comfy, yes comy i enjoy wearing them, there padded in all the right spots and it was 80 degres toady and they were very breathable. stay on the hands and have a very convenient little pull tab to adjust urself before ya bombthat hill.

the only badd things were minimal velcro on the thumbs it stays on fine just knida feels weird. and also on the palms. not that you need it but it would allow for more personalization.

over all this product kicks asss the pros are about 20 to 1 and the customer service is great! thanx J!

Sweet! I'm glad they finally came

I'm going to bump up the thickness on the thumb velcro on future gloves. Seems like it will solve some problems. I'm also going to test out some different glues for the velcro. Hot glue leads to too many burnt fingers!

My gloves just arrived today as well.

These are my first slide gloves, so I don't have any reference points to compare them to, but they're quite nice-looking. As has been said before, the palm puck is huge compared to what I expected from the pictures.
Unfortunately, testing won't be happening this week, since I'm in the middle of finals week right now.

Just have to say though, Jeff is a great guy to deal with. He responds to PMs quickly, and is really helpful.

May I suggest Shoe Goo for the adhesive? I haven't had any problems with the velcro coming off my gloves ever since I used it, though I'm not sure if it'll behave differently as your gloves may be a different material.

Thanks, I was actually going to try that next. I've heard good things. Unfortunately Wal-mart doesn't carry it, so i'll have to go somewhere else

Did you have to apply pressure when you made yours? like overnight?
