with my experience with shoe goo and velcro ive noticed that if you swap pucks/rotate them alot the velcro on the gloves starts to come off. (delam, if you will). people are recommending gorilla glue. maybe look into that.

Gorilla glue kinda sucks on leather. The best way I've found to attach velcro is to get the kind with an adhesive back, wrap the glove loosely in duct tape (while your hand is in it) around the fingers and any place where you need velcro, then stick the velcro on to the duct tape. You do sacrifice some flexibility by wrapping duct tape around it, but they last forever and being able to wiggle your fingers isn't that important while sliding.

Down&dirty - gorilla glue works GREAT on the brown bomber gloves. 100% better than the (hot?) glue jeff is using (or was using back when I bough them) I've lost several pucks (velcro ripping from glove) and used gorilla glue to replace them and havennt had a single problem yet. Good stuff!

Been testing out the Shoe Goo with some great results. It's flexible and super strong! I'll have to compare it to Gorilla glue. By the way, I think your gloves were actually from the batch w/o any extra glue under the velcro's adhesive

Yeah jmasta I remember you telling me something like that a few weeks ago.

But on the longterm my gloves are holding up rediculously well thru my hardcore beat downs very day. 3 pucks/Velcro have ripped off and been replaced by the Velcro you sent me Nd gorrilla glue. And I ripped off both of the strings (DO NOT TIGHTEN YOUR STRINGS WITH YOUR TEETH) they held up longer than I had originally expected though.
I might order another set by the end of summer if I ever finish of these blacktops. I know they're supposed to be the least durable but damn they're still going strong for me!

haha that's funny. same here! It seems like most people have this misconception that the Delrin pucks will go gone in a few sessions

I'm still on my first set of Blacktops, and a slide a LOT. Only half way through my palm pucks after several months of fast tech sliding

How much for a set of just the mechanix gloves? My gravity gloves have taken a beating, but the pucks are still good, and I'm a little short on cash.

If you want to kill your pucks, do pressure spins or surrendors. I did a 1260 (I think, its hard to count but I know it was above 900) pressure spin and I took a small layer off of my mudstones. (like you know when you slide a puck and you have the material thats on the edge and its sorta like soap shavings? thats what I had).

ughh.. pucks coming off left and right..

I don't know what went wrong with this batch but the velcro didn't stick to the mechanix at all man..

before my friend even used hers.. her palm buck was off.. the adhesive stopped on the glove..

2 session and both thumb pucks were off and palm pucks were dangling.

I just reattached the pucks with shoe gloo by tana (same stuff pretty much as shoe goo)

*bangs his head against the wall*

just thought I'd let you know..

hopefully the shoe gloo doens't eat the gloves.. *shrugs*

It shouldn't eat the gloves if it is anything like shoe goo. I put shoe goo on my Mechanix.

I think you should give the option to order the gloves/pucks/velcro so maybe they can glue it themselves.....idk...

mine came off, but just superglued them; no prob...just don't rip them off every minute...

Damn sorry you guys are having such problems with the velcro. My personal gloves have been holding up fine... but maybe I skimped on the glue when I was making lots of pairs? I have now abandoned the hot glue method. Shoe goo and gorilla glue are working wonders.... but it's hard to tell which will be better in the long-run. Tomorrow I'm going to go pick up some "Liquid Nails" used in construction with those tube guns. we'll see how that compares

I'm going to make a velcro test video with different glues on each finger, so I can compare them head-on. I plan on abusing the hell out of them... trying to peel off the velcro by hand, 100+ puck rotations, dunking it in water, etc. I'll post my results when I get a chance. These gloves are going to be bomb-proof!! stay tuned 8)

haha I know what ya mean. When I was testing out the different pucks, I was doing surrender slides down the majority of my steep slide hill (probably at least 150 ft). They crazy thing about the BlackTops and Mudstones was that.... I kept accelerating!... even with two hands on the ground!

I used to do a lot of pressure spins (1080* was the most I ever got)... but now i've been working more on 360 rewinds (360 h/s + 360 t/s, one continuous motion) and the like

i mean yea. the velcro is comming off everywhere. ill see what can do. im pretty handy with a hot glue gun. and im not gona lie. the greenhorns might be little slow for me, there slower than the loadeds palms. i thnkk im gona try some blacktops, i might be converted to the darkside.....

I"m a greenhorn using blacktops because i didn't want to wait for greenhorns. The one thing for sure is they don't scrub alot of speed. If you are okay with that; they are definately nice and slidey. I can find it diffcult currently to pull my hands back in after a slide because there isn't a whole lot to base off of my hands (little frictions). (this is most likely a result of simply uber sucking)

so do you think moving from gravity gloves (delrin) to these, I should go with blacktops rather than greenhorns? I've worn about halfway through my right gravity palm puck, and I don't expect it to last the summer (nor the gloves, for that matter)... so def. looking for replacements in the future.
